MTG and Massie Prepare to Strike, Will Force Johnson Expulsion Vote ‘Next Week’
Breitbart ^ | 1 May 2024 | BRADLEY JAYE

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) earned the endorsement of House Democrat Leadership Tuesday. He will need to cash in on that endorsement only days later.

Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Thomas Massie (R-KY) announced to a packed press conference outside the Capitol Wednesday that they would force a vote on Greene’s motion to vacate “next week.”

With the Capitol dome behind them, Greene and Massie accused Johnson of “three betrayals” on government funding, allowing surveillance of American citizens, and funding Ukraine without first securing the border.

The move has long been expected, but Wednesday’s escalation makes clear Johnson’s perilous path toward maintaining his gavel — if not in the short term, certainly beyond November.

“This motion is wrong for the Republican Conference, wrong for the institution, and wrong for the country,” read a short Johnson statement issued after the announcement and a day after Johnson accused Greene of not being a serious lawmaker.

After Greene filed her motion, Johnson proceeded to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) after casting the deciding vote to kill the warrant requirement and then folded on Ukraine funding.

“Now we have Hakeem Jeffries and the Democrats coming out, embracing Mike Johnson with a warm hug and a big wet sloppy kiss,” Greene said, arguing Democrats endorsed Johnson “because Mike Johnson is giving them everything they want. Everything. Every single thing.”

What's the plan?

Replace him with Speaker Jeffries and have Jeffries replace all the committee appointments?

we’re trying to elect a president and MTG and her clown show are rolling on. Timing is everything and MTG has no sense of it.

A vote on the motion will separate conservatives from RINOS.

Don't fret. The Democrats will save Johnson.

I think somebody on our side needs to sit down with MTG and let her know this is not the time for this. If we’re serious about stopping the Deep State that has her colleagues in their pockets, we need to keep the committee headships right now and elect R majorities in both houses in addition to putting Trump in the White House.

We all know this stinks. We all know why it happened. Now we need to be smart in how and when we fight it. I like her. I understand what she’s saying. But it’s the opposite of what will save this country.

Maybe Gaetz can talk some sense into her.

The clown show is the Republicans in the House under Johnson.

MTG is one of the few principles in the House that gives a damn about her constituents.

This has nothing to do with Trump.

Don't get you undies a wad. The Democrats will save Johnson.

This will backfire on Massie and Greene.

This will weaken the Party overall and enable Hakeem to push through far more liberal legislation than Johnson even dreamed of.

IF they are even successful in this little coup of theirs.

Will they save Johnson, or will they elect Hakeem Jeffries?

Or will they use this as an opportunity to get another R to resign immediately so the speakership goes to Jeffries anyway?

This isn’t a game. MTG needs to learn when to hold her fire.

This has nothing to do with Trump.

Wrong. Trump and his RNC have been the loudest most vocal opponents of Greene. For good reason. Greene will only damage Trump and the party come election day.

If we’re serious about stopping the Deep State that has her colleagues in their pockets, we need to keep the committee headships right now and elect R majorities in both houses in addition to putting Trump in the White House.

If the were serious about reigning in Deep State, Johnson and his fellow RINOs wouldn't have agree to spend more than four billion dollars for a new FBI HQ. They would have threatened to cut funding off for the FBI unless there were reforms.

Instead, all we get is endless investigations to nowhere.

Pretending Johnson has done anything but placate the Swamp and Deep State is absurd.

You are really smart as verified by your comment. Why don’t you run for congress, they need somebody with your intelligence there. Oh wait...

I dislike this worm of a Speaker as much as anyone... it’s a matter of timing. It’s too much risk for a gesture. A new Congress will be seated in January, we can take up the Speaker-ship fight then... also then we’ll have the clarity of knowing our numbers.

Impossible. Johnson already gives the left everything they want.

Nothing will change if we got rid of Johnson. There's still a filibuster in the Senate so Sinema and Manchin will simply say no.

They're not that radical. But things may change, that's not until January.

What risk? Democrats wouldn't have the votes to pass anything radical. If necessary, the Senate Republicans could filibuster any legislation coming out of the House.

On the plus side, Republicans would benefit in the election with a radical like Jefferies running his mouth as Speaker.

It's irrelevant anyway since the Democrats have already said they'd save Johnson.

It's amusing anyone is fretting over this.

I’d rather not have the House controlled by the dims if we wind up with a tied or non majority EC.

I’m not ‘fretting’ over it either, for the same reason as you, the dims will save him.
