To: Alas Babylon!

In 1951 my dad was on the front lines in Korea. CBS reported that his whole company had been annihilated. My mom spent 2 weeks fearing he was dead until she got a letter from him post-dated after that false report.

My dad has never trusted the media since then, and I have never, ever trusted the media.

But my nieces and nephews do. It’s really sad.

In WWII my dad’s ship was reported sank but I put that off more to the fog of war than media bias.
