Conservatives are haunted by House Republicans who make all manner of campaign promises but, once in office, forget their obligations to voters or justify why they reneged on their word to support or reject a particular piece of legislation. Our biggest disappointments to date are probably their epic failure regarding Obamacare and capitulations ad nauseam regarding anything budgetary.
The Republican counter-response to these repeated failures has been less than exemplary. Basically, all we’ve done is eat our own. Recall Kevin McCarthy, who had a tough time getting elected Speaker in January 2023—a prolonged, painful, and very public process that did not reflect well on House Republicans. In exchange for enough votes to win after 15 ballots, McCarthy agreed that any one member could bring a motion to vacate his Speakership.
Out of abject frustration and the desire to make a point (and perhaps a desire to make history), Rep. Matt Gaetz caused an uproar among his Republican colleagues and millions of constituents when he successfully moved to vacate Speaker McCarthy on October 3, 2023—unleashing a Game of Thronesian Red October where candidates like Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan and Tom Emmer were paraded about as successors, then electorally crucified until Mike Johnson was elected on October 25.
It was a bloody mess. Although many agreed in principle, most didn’t see any strategic value given our newfound but very slim majority and the need to present a united front until we could re-elect Trump and increase our numbers in Congress. Looking frail and scattered, they presented the antithesis of two core Democrat party principles: Never eat one’s own and always vote in lockstep.

Out of 280 responses, 23.2% were Yes; 38.9% were No; and 37.9% agreed that “While Republicans must change how they do business, the solution isn’t ousting him at this time.”
In this solid sample of Tea Party and MAGA conservatives—precisely the type of individuals who support politicians like Gaetz and Greene—76.8% do not support ousting Speaker Johnson.
I’d be curious to see if national polls among Tea Party and MAGA conservatives would align with these results. Even President Trump has defended and continues to support Speaker Johnson. Let’s hope MJT gets the memo.
OK, let’s say MTG succeeds in ousting Mike Johnson, WHO DOES SHE HAVE AS SPEAKER IN MIND? ( I’m guessing herself ).
Maybe someone else would be more entertaining, but it would probably be a “meet the new boss, same as the old boss” situation. We keep getting fooled again.
Hopefully this is just a move to scare Johnson and get him to pay attention to real conservatives and not the UniParty...

Looking this long list of Mike’s conservative - MAGA accomplishments in Congress and as Speaker, I see no advantage in keeping him.
That the democrats are willing to help him stay in the job pretty much says it all.

When the ruling party in Congress has a slim majority, fringe players have their power magnified. So you end up with the leader getting tossed for pushing an agenda that has the support of at least 85% of his own party’s members in Congress.
They were more than happy to throw Kevin McCarthy out. What does that tell you?

In name only, maybe. Democrats would put an end to the impeachment which is DOA in the Senate anyhow, and the Hunter investigation, which is political theater - now he’s suing people for publishing HIS X-rated content. They barely got Mayorkas impeached only to have the Senate treat it like a piece of used TP.
Sure Mike would have to move back out of the cushy office and the R branch of the Uniparty would become subservient again...oops wait they already are.
Yeah, I’m being cynical but in practical terms, just how much worse would it be? Or to put the another way, just how much batter has it been for our side with the “Republican majority”?
They call him MAGIC Johnson because when told to - he changes his position Magically.
He’s Compromised - and typifies how the Deep State Controls the Congress, and the country.
We already have a de facto Speaker in place. Greene wants to make Jeffries permanent.
And fools like Greene, Boebert, Massie et al think that’s a grand idea.
He’s perfect for this amoral time.
We don’t have a real President, fitting we don’t have a real Speaker.

Plenty of reasons why this is so. Jeffries is already the de facto Speaker; Johnson is a useful idiot. And by keeping The Johnson as so-called Speaker - he brings more disharmony and infighting amongst Repubs and conservatives.
Democrats know.... When you enemy is busy destroying themselves... Don't interfere.
