Oh, who wants their food and medicine refrigerated anyways?

“DEC’s proposal is estimated to help businesses reduce energy costs and will result in $288-to-$540 million in savings, while helping fight climate change.”“
Holy smokes what a load of BS.

"...will result in $288-to-$540 million in savings"Our Great and Good Benevolent Government is always saving me money. I've saved so much money because of all the good they have done to me that I'm broke.

“The proposed regulations would require large scale retail food chains to reduce (hydrofluorocarbons), which equates to 2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year, have no direct costs to consumers, and would not require consumers or businesses to replace existing products and equipment prior to the end of useful life,” Salka said. “According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, DEC’s proposal is estimated to help businesses reduce energy costs and will result in $288-to-$540 million in savings, while helping fight climate change.” Hahaha...when the cost to maintain or premature replace equipment skyrockets, the cost WILL be passed onto shoppers AKA consumers.

I know a way to use much less refrigeration...food irradiation. I wonder if the environazis would support that.

This dangerous gas should be banned from all government buildings and vehicles, right now! Also, they need to stimulate the planet’s recovery by providing me with one billion dollars to invest in appropriate strategies. It’s the only way to save the planet. I predict that without the actions I propose, climate change will be irreversible in three weeks from now.

Evidently NY doesn’t want you to cool things nor heat things (banning natural gas).

No gas, no fridges, not enough electricity.
Eventually we will no longer be allowed to have personal kitchens.

I have a refrigerator in my garage that dates from the 1950s. It has never had a freon recharge (unless it got one early in its life.) I have avoided needing about 7 new refrigerators, with all the attendant cost, use of fossil fuels and materials, transportation, etc. THAT’s how to save the planet — not crack down on one-time refrigerant use in well-made machines.

Not a problem for New Yorkers. With all the lakes in upstate New York, they can cut ice during the winter, and store it under bales of straw in an ice cellar. Then a couple times every week the newcomers turned "ice men" can deliver the ice to consumers' ice boxes using their horse and wagon.

The EPA and all the states climate czars need to quit making up rules about eliminating anything that is currently the most economically reasonable product to use, and all them need to switch to legislation seeking to assist in the development of alternatives and when the alternatives meet the engineering and economic tests for being reasoably equal to the current products THEN they can seek for those new products to be used.

Eliminating beer and carbonated soft drinks would have a greater carbon reduction.
Beer and Coke are CO2 emitters
