Besides the problem dealing with batteries that can safely be ‘filled up’ in minutes, there is the problem of a cheap, reliable, abundant source of electricity.

‘Fossil’ fuels, which have provided power for centuries: out. Hydroelectric (save the salmon!!) out. Nuclear (are you out of your mind??!!; definitely out. Even the limited amount of geothermal apparently disturbs some endangered critter or another. What’s left?
