In the Cultural Marxists' "long march through the institutions," perhaps their toughest conquest was the Boy Scouts of America. This past week the BSA finally fully succumbed to the life-draining internal parasites with which it was infected 11 years ago after decades of stalwart resistance.
As with so many aspects of the fundamental transformation America has suffered in the 21st century, the turning point in the takedown of the Boy Scouts was an Obama operation – headed by deep-state swamp creature Rex Tillerson with a major assist by then-Defense Secretary Robert Gates.

Control every hire and the ‘training’ and they weed out the competent and middle-of-road types. They gain a death grip and destroy the body. THen, the parasites move on to destroy the next host.
The left couldn’t care less about the viability of the Boy Scouts. They now have its head on a spit, and will parade it around as a show of their power.

But wasn’t it true there was a huge push to get the Boy Scouts to stop being “homophobic” and to allow gay staff? Then they did. Then the multimillion dollar lawsuits started about gay staff molesting boys. Then the Boy Scouts declined and went broke.
Is that accurate?
The Cub Scouts were losing boys’ interest long before they even allowed girls. My husband lost interest when he was a kid because he wanted to do the rough outdoors things; and they had him doing ‘girly’ craft stuff.
Of course the Left needed to destroy boys being raised like this:

Right now the organization is an attractive nuisance to parents who don’t pay attention to the left’s agenda.
BSA had a legacy of good and goodwill that some parents may remember and think still exists.
It is a shame anytime a child today is put into this corrupted organization.
It was a blue-print used to take down so many independent, civil-society and conservatives organizations - the Boy Scouts, the Catholic Church and many other religious organizations, the NRA, etc...
Find cases of sexual abuse by homosexuals or a hidden sexual predator, and use “conservative” sentiment against those. Then bankrupt them with lawfare by the state. Then as part of a “settlement” re-organize them as neutered and pliant parts of the woke deep-state.
I drove by my city’s former Catholic Bishop’s residence, which was sold as part of a bankruptcy caused by suits stemming from abuse by approx. 35 male homosexual pedophile priests - out of 8000+ who passed through the diocese in the last 75 years (a figure far less than the local public schools BTW)
The house, which has been sold to private owners, was flying an LGBTQ flag.
Fairly accurate, but the sexual assault lawsuits were only part of it. Sharply declining membership because of these changes were the nail in the coffin. The Mormon Church sponsorship completely pulled out several years ago, and they had massive representation.
as a scout leader, the expansion of the program to include girls in the cub scouts and separate troops in the Scouts of America, can only benefit society.
individual Packs and Troops run independent programs sharing beliefs.

BSA membership peaked at almost 5 million in the early 1970s. By 2023 it was down to about a million. It wasn’t “woke politics” that drove an 80% decline in membership; it was simple demographics. The core base of BSA members (white males) slowly declined, while other demographic groups never had any interest in Scouting. Hispanic immigrants don’t join the Big Scouts. Black kids never did. Asian kids have no interest in what the Boy Scouts have to offer.
Having said that, I’d point out that this pathological fixation on “diversity” that has come to pollute our political and cultural scene over the years is ultimately going to bring about the demise of almost every iconic organization in this country. It won’t be the result of some nefarious scheme. It’s just that even in a nation of 340 million people, you’d be hard pressed to find 5 million of them — or even 1 million — who care enough about a common set of goals, standards and principles to join an organization like the Boy Scouts, the Rotary Club, the local Chamber of Commerce, etc.

I still have hope in the future of this country, mainly because I have kids in my neighborhood who never had any interest in the Boy Scouts. These kids are barely old enough to drive, and yet they regularly go on overnight hunting/camping trips with no adult supervision.

We need numerous smaller organizations of like-interested people. I don’t care if the umbrella organization “Boy Scouts” disappears completely.
This is also an example of why you cannot cave on certain issues of principal.
—Once you crack the door on letting government control any aspect of the Second Amendment, eventually you’ll end up without a right to bear arms. So yes, you have to (must) take an extreme stance on this issue if you think we have a right to bear arms.
—Once you leave the smallest crack open regards abortion (best dealt with by the States as Trump successfully pushed), you’re going to end up with tax payer paid for late term abortions, for under age girls, without parental consent or knowledge.
There are many issues where there is room for compromise, where there are even shades of grey.
There are some issues where you cannot compromise, where you cannot crack the door open even the slightest bit, unless you’re willing to accept that eventually that door will be slammed wide open.
Those people on the fence, that argue for moderation, a middle ground, on these issues of principal where you cannot open the door realistically without having it slammed open eventually are simply for the most extreme and radical liberal ideas usually. They just want to “feel good” about themselves as they propose a middle ground where there in reality in none.
How do you know where there is a middle ground and where not is not as complicated to understand as folks think. (1) Look at the farthest extremes on both sides and ask yourself how many folks are in the middle of that spectrum and on the extreme ends. For example, with abortion you really have a lot of folks that support the most extreme pro-abortion position imaginable. They support it all, literally. So if you cast your vote for the so-called “middle ground” you’re really supporting the most extreme permissive abortion policies. (2) Ask yourself if there is a financial incentive for one side vs. the other. For example, abortion is an industry worth billions not only performing abortions, but also selling the parts of a fetus etc. It’s big money with lobbying and all. If money is involved, there will be pressure to expand it more and more over time and they will ALWAYS have a BS rationalization in hand to justify their cause. Example abortion: stem cells and curing Parkinson’s years ago.
Let me give you a converse example where I am the bad guy. I support the legalization of Marijuana. I know in reality that there is no real middle ground on that issue since most people that want it legal want it entirely legal, in every aspect. The eventual outcome of legalization even if just for medical reasons at first will be that recreational use, stores selling it, farms growing it, THC (not just CBD) containing marijuana will be available. There is no middle ground. Most people for the legalization are on the far end and want total legalization and there is a lot of money to be made. If you do not want my side to prevail, you must be entirely opposed to the legalization of marijuana. Crack the door open, and I will eventually win it all.
Trail Scouts are the replacement organization for conservatives, is my understanding.
