There are a number of people here who simply cannot get anything other than dial-up. Just because YOU can get faster service, doesn't mean everyone can. If Jim were to design this site to cater to you and others who have the faster service, he would lose MANY loyal Freepers.
While Mia T's posts are always entertaining and clever, there are times that the loading is almost too much for dial-up. If Pac Bell ever replaces all their old rural lines, I'll be the FIRST to order faster service. And to make matters worse, even though I have a 56K modem, the old phone lines only deliver between 26 to 28K. Blech!
