President Bush (left) shown here with attorney William J. Clinton of Arkansas who was indicted of perjury and accused of rape before briefly losing his license to practise law. Democrats are pressing Bush to reveal the extent of his relationship with the disgraced former Governor. Republicans caution against guilt by association.

You're right, he is not a felon, but he was impeached, but never convicted. In the court of law, you have to be indicted before a conviction or acquittal can occur. In the office of the presidency, one had to be impeached (akin to indicted), before one can be convicted. In Clinton's case, he was acquitted.

how does impeachment make him a felon? Perjury is a felony. He was indicted by the HoR of perjury, a felony.

I did not claim he was a felon. When one is impeached or indicted, they are charged with a crime, not declaired a felon. That comes with conviction. In The president's case the penalty is removal.
Of course, you know that and only want to argue. I won't play anymore.

Perjury is a felony. He was indicted by the HoR of perjury, a felony.First of all, he was not indicted by the HoR. He was impeached. Second of all, he was not removed from office, so even using your loose defintions, he was not indicted.

Uh, no, they are not. Andrew Johnson was never charged with a crime, for example. His impeachment was purely political.

Of course, you know that and only want to argue. I won't play anymore.I'll put my Clinton-protesting creds against just about any poster here except for Doc Raoul and the DC Chapter.
But I also believe in accuracy. I prefer to leave hyperbole to DU. I would hope Freepers would feel the same way.

He was indited by commitee that decided to recommend his impeachment by the House.
The House impeached him recommending to the Senate that he be removed for those felonies he commited.
The Senate decided not to do so.
He lost his lisence to practice law because of the felonies he commited. That was his punishment.
