BETTER LUCK NEXT TYRANT: Facing Off Saddam Fan Club at Walter Reed While Awaiting Execution -- Week 89
Washington, DC, December 29, 2006-- Usually we don't bother any more with the anti-American prophets of Doom down the street from the gates of Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Since we chased them off the gates, we focus on cheering the troops and ignore them unless they challenge us. But this night, carrying Kristinn's "Good Riddance Saddam" sign, several FReepers ventured down the street, frankly, to share our relief that a murdering despot was on the way out, within hours.
President GW (aka 3D-Joy) and President Kristinn
The evening started off with Pinko "Luke" riding by on his bicycle as we greeted him with shouts of "Wuke!, Wuke!". He then gave us a glimpse of something I'd rather not have seen: the old 'Plumber's Crack'. Eeewwwwww!!!
FReepers Kristinn, Plea Deal and Mrs Trooprally then strolled waaaaaay down the block to the sidewalk across the wide avenue from the Pinkos' area, caught their attention with our sign, and asked them, "So, what do you think about Saddam being sentenced to hang tonight?"
No response.
"What's up with the Saddam thing?" we tried. "How do you feeeeel about it?"
Still nothing. Blank expressions. Cat got their tongues. Then Kristinn asked, "Will you join us in congratulating our Troops for capturing Saddam?" He then led PleaDeal and Mrs. Trooprally in a cheer of Hip, Hip, Hooray! Hip, Hip, Hooray! Hip, Hip, HOORAY! Still no response from the representatives of Hate America First. Kristinn yelled "I really didn't expect anything more from you all!"
We gave them a New Year's break and decided to leave. But not before Plea Deal hollered across, "Better luck next tyrant!"
In fact, Kristinn had run smack into Saddam Hussein's American communist lawyer, Ramsey Clark, days earlier at Dulles International Airport, as Clark was dejectedly returning from losing his defense case for the Butcher of Baghdad and getting thrown out of the Iraqi courtroom -- in English ("Get out!) While the DC Chapter has a rule against provoking violent moonbats, the opportunity to express a little free republican speech was too perfect to pass up; so Kristinn had a few words for Ramsey Clark, recounted on an earlier thread -- and in the Washington Times newspaper "Below the Beltway" section.
The whole list of FReepers & FRiends in attendance tonight (If I missed anyone - please let me know!): 3D-Joy (aka GW), Albion Wilde, Apple Blossom, Bill from MD*, bmwcyle, daughter of bmwcyle, Fraxinus, George*, Jimmy Valentine's Brother, Just A Nobody, Kristinn, PleaDeal, Sensei Ern, Son of tgslTakoma, tgslTakoma, Trooprally [Mr. & Mrs].
Mrs Trooprally's pics are here, and here are PleaDeal's.
Several stalwarts were out this week due to a pretty nasty bug that's making the rounds. We missed Cindy-True-Supporter, VAFlagWaver, Tom the Redhunter, and lurker Ethel*. Get well soon, guys!

An honorable sign. |
A fun (and very true!) sign. |
A young Airman joined us for quite awhile. Ely is the kind of man who puts the lie to Kerry's assertion that only losers join the Military. He had a couple of years of college under his belt, but felt the compelling need to give a few years to his country before resuming his civilian life. An injury cut his Air Force career short, and now he's going back to school and wants to major in a field that will keep him in the Military industry. Good Luck, Airman! And THANK YOU for serving our country and keeping us safe!!!!
Otherwise, we just FReeped; it was quiet because many were on leave, but after the FReep and NO BUS this week, several of us grouped together with some solders of our acquaintance to watch the televised execution. After it was over, there was no cheering, no inappropriate glee at the demise of an enemy of freedom. Just a huge sense of relief, and sadness that one abused little boy could have grown up into such a monster, who inflicted so much pain on so many.
We'll be back out at Walter Reed Friday night, January 5th, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.
The wounded warriors inside the hospital are heartened by the sight of ordinary citizens cheering for them and displaying our thanks for the service and sacrifice they've made on our behalf. Start your New Year with the resolution to come out and celebrate our wonderful troops. You will NOT regret it!
A couple hours this Friday night is very little to give compared to what they've contributed!
If you can't get to D.C. to join us but would like to do something for the wounded, you can find a wealth of ideas by FReepmailing Albion Wilde, Cindy-True-Supporter or PleaDeal.

Ping to post 39 from a soldier in Iraq.
{Reporters} are too busy SEARCHING for the bad news that the Liberals crave.

Same thing over here. Our "news" reporters are extremely selective in what they consider worth sharing with "the American People."
Thanks for your note. I hope you will have time to tell us more about your impressions in Iraq. You are doing valuable work.
HOOAH DC FReepers and great AAR, PD.
Sorry to hear some of you had that horrible virus. Assume you mean the stomach thing? Couple of my family members had it over Christmas and it is the WORST...
Thanks for all you do.
Saturday Bump Back-at-ya!
It is nice to hear from you that you realize how very much we care about, and support, each of you!
I only get to join my DC friends for parts of the year when I am staying with family in this area. I wish I could do more, but did have fun "sneaking up on them" as "W" for a night.
Stay well, and safe, come back home when your job is done.
Albion - thanks forthe ping!
KSoldier - Thanks for protecting me and mine. Despite what the democRAT party would have the world believe, the election was not a reerendum on the War on terror, that was held in 2004. The 2006 election was a referrendum on the Republican controlled congress. Every Friday when were outside WRAMC, cars drive by honking their horns passengers waving and shouting. So you and your buddies kep ing mind that just as the negatives are highlighted over there, it's the same here.
We are truly grateful for everything our military for our country and our freedom. Know that every single minute of every day someone out there is loving and praying for you and your mission. We will NOT falter in our support of our you. Not ever.
Thanks for your letter KSoldier. It's really good for us to hear first hand of how you, as a soldier, feels. We support you all the way. Thank you for your service to our country and helping to bring freedom to the Iraqi people. God bless you.
Bless you for being a defender. We will always be in your debt.
BRAVO!!!!!
>>Bill from MD* brought something never seen before: LurkerVision! Take some PVC pipe, a sheet, a generator, a projector atop a stepladder and voila! Roadside images of past FReeps and inspirational messages!<<
What a great idea!
Bravo!
Way to go, FReepers!!!
