Feds alert judge to Trump’s ‘If you go after me, I’m coming after you!’ post

Prosecutors say the former president’s message on Truth Social raises specter he might use evidence to target witnesses.

Prosecutors on Friday night called a judge’s attention to a social media post from Donald Trump — issued hours earlier — in which they say the former president appeared to declare that he’s “coming after” those he sees as responsible for the series of formidable legal challenges he is facing.

Attorneys from special counsel Jack Smith’s team said the post from Trump “specifically or by implication” referenced those involved in his criminal case for seeking to subvert the 2020 election. In a court filing just before 10 p.m. Friday, Senior Assistant Special Counsels Molly Gaston and Thomas Windom alerted the judge in Trump’s latest criminal case – U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan – to a combative post Trump sent earlier in the day.

“If you go after me, I’m coming after you!” Trump wrote in all caps Friday afternoon on Truth Social, which is run by a media company he co-owns.

The prosecutors said Trump’s post raised concerns that he might improperly share evidence in the case on his social media account and they urged that he be ordered to keep any evidence prosecutors turn over to his defense team from public view.

“All the proposed order seeks to prevent is the improper dissemination or use of discovery materials, including to the public,” Gaston and Windom wrote. “Such a restriction is particularly important in this case because the defendant has previously issued public statements on social media regarding witnesses, judges, attorneys, and others associated with legal matters pending against him. … And in recent days, regarding this case, the defendant has issued multiple posts—either specifically or by implication—including the following, which the defendant posted just hours ago.”

Trump will do unto them as they are doing unto him..

That’s why the Swamp should not spy on innocent people, impeach innocent people, steal an election from innocent people, raid the homes of innocent people, and use just us against the same innocent person.

That comes around after going around in this life unless you kill that person before they get back into the Oval Office and obliterate the deep state..

Trump has a mandate to do unto them as they have done unto him

Justice will have to obliterate just us

Or the nation falls and dirt naps happen in the millions

“from Trump’s big book of how to make friends and influence people”

Well, I tell you, based on his track record, he has one of the best records in American history of making friends and influencing people. Have you noticed his rallies? Have you noticed that he garnered more votes than anyother incumbent president in history? And if you think the Sniffer got 81 million votes, more than the sainted Obama, then you are either dishonest or stupid, just like everyone else who claims that.

If Trump ever goes to jail I would not want to a judge, lawyer, sheriff, police officer or member of the DOJ, FBI or CIA.

then you are either dishonest or stupid

more from Trump’s big book of how to make friends and influencing people

Elections are won not by having the most enthusiastic supporters, but by having the most votes. This usually involves a mix of securing the base, minimizing third-party siphoning and appealing to swing and independent voters.

History has many politicians with huge and enthusiastic crowds who nevertheless lost. William Jennings Bryan drew enormous crowds but lost in 1896, 1900 and 1908. Turns out he spooked as many people as he supercharged.

In 2016, Trump lost the nationwide popular vote, but won the states crucial to victory. It was an amazing upset victory. That campaign is deserving of study, and yet it hasn’t gotten the study it deserves probably because nobody can yet think straight about it. Trump’s personal and non-stop campaigning was amazing. His crowds weren’t just political rallies. They were lovefests. Whatever becomes of Trump’s current troubles, that victory will always be his. Yes, and Diamond and Silk, and Ted Nugent, and Kellyanne Conway, and so many more people whom I just love.

In many ways, 2020 was similar, but it was also very different. Long before the campaigning got underway, the Democrats were busy changing the rules (because of COVID, supposedly). Only in Nevada, did the legislature explicitly acquiesce to the change; but, in no state did the legislature explicitly object either prior to or after the voting. Turnout increased by 4 percent in states that DID NOT change the rules for voting, and by 5 percent in states that DID. There is no indication that the small difference in voting between the change and no-change states was instrumental to the outcome in any state. Trump supporters cannot get it through their heads that Trump’s deep emotional draw on them was countered by a deep emotional rejection to those on the other side. They refuse to believe that turnout jumped for both parties in 2020.

While there is no evidence that increased turnout decided the election, there was a change that very easily could have tipped the balance in the states critical to the outcome. Nether Kanye West nor the Green Party candidate was on the ballot in any of Az., Ga. or Wi. (I could mention several other states, but these will suffice.) Why weren’t they on the ballot? Because of fastidiousness in checking signatures and enforcing deadlines while the epidemic was in its fiercest phase. The Democrats kept them off the ballot and, so, had out-maneuvered the Republicans.

And, today, what are the Democrats doing? Would you believe they’re looking to keep the No Labels Party and Cornel West off the ballot? Obviously. Democrats do their homework.

BTW watch out whom you repeatedly call stupid. You are no way in Trump’s class of name-calling; and, he with all his troubles ain’t such hot sh*t any longer himself.

odawg said “then you are either dishonest or stupid” in post 84. I quoted him in 87.

odawg previously said “You must be an idiot” in post 72. I quoted in post 83.

Looks like some people aren’t so confident these days.

“Elections are won not by having the most enthusiastic supporters, but by having the most votes.”

Yep, everybody knows enthusastic supporters don’t usually go vote. No sir, and the talking heads on tv never say a word about enthuiastiv supporters. They prefer lukewarm. However, I know you did not notice, not being very bright and eager to set up a straw man, but I never used the word “enthusiastic.”

I bet you think that is highly analytic and wise.

It is neither.

Smith is the hero of the DeoSanctus TDS crowd.

Oh, stuff it. We all know this is a sham kangaroo court, as does DeSantis. He’s said as much.

We also know these sham indictments only serve to make Trump stronger in the primaries, while weakening him in the general election.

It’s you all who are being played like a fiddle by the Left but you’re so blindly devoted to Trump, you refuse to see it.

odawg speaks!

quick, my hammer and chisel!

It actually isn’t the number of votes. It’s the enthusiasm of those who vote. No wonder Trump supporters insist they won. They had the enthusiasm.

I am in favor of dismissing all charges against Trump, and eventual construction of a Trump memorial to honor the many good things he accomplished as President.

But I also question the emotional stability of anyone under indictment who would publish an ambiguous threat in all caps. If I was Trump’s lawyer I would strongly consider leaving his case.

What would be best for the USA is for Trump to withdraw from the Presidential race, and let one of the many able Republicans running for President try to defeat the evil Rats in 2024.

Sorry. Each vote is equally important. Your vote is not more important than anybody else’s. Your enthusiasm doesn’t make your vote more important.

Speaking of enthusiasm, why do you suppose Trump only turns on his supporters to vote for him. Why do you not suppose Trump turns on others to vote against him?

Don’t you feel the hate out there for Trump? Did you miss the crying on election night 2016? Did you miss the surge in Democrat vote in 2018?

Okay, don’t post me any more. You believe that the Sniffer got 81 million votes and are therefore immune to reason and logic. You are beyond anyone’s reach.
