WHEN IS ABC GOING TO PURGE THEMSELVES OF THIS WORTHLESS CLYMER. I DON'T WANT TO WATCH MNF WITH A GRANOLA CHEWING, COFFEE SHOP, CONDESCENDING LIBERAL

Listened to Parcells and Boomer on the radio coming home & loved it - I felt like making Edith get me a beer when I got in the door. Turned on the TV & was quickly disgusted.

Hopefully the poor matchups this year will continue aiding the decline in ratings & ultimately Millers dismissal.

easy there. i still remember one of his hour-long standup routines in 1993, and he had been making political jokes, and then he started into what we thought would be a schtick about adm. stockdale. "there was poor admiral stockdale -- they had a good time with him having his hearing aid turned off. everybody thought it was really funny. of course, nobody mentioned that the reason admiral stockdale needs hearing aids is that his eardrums were pierced in a north vietnamese POW camp. no, admiral stockdale is guilty of the one crime that is unforgivable today: he's not good on television." and all of a sudden it was entirely clear that miller was not making jokes here and in fact was well and truly pissed off.

ever since then, as annoying as he almost always is, i've found it easy to cut dennis miller some slack.

I was, admittedly, already missing an increasing number of MNF games. The last few years have seen a number of changes in what was once a more predictable routine for me.

Dennis Miller, however, made the final break easy.

Why go out of your way to catch the game when you have to listen to that depraved assh*le?

Dittos. Haven't watched a Monday Night Game since he was made a commentator. I heard that last year their ratings dropped 20%, even though they had the best matchups and games they'd had in years.

According to Foxsports.com it's Giants 6-0 in the 2nd.

Back in the Cosell days, I either watched MNF in a bar so we could all yell insults at the TV, or at home with the sound off. Now, I just skip MNF altogether. Miller is not only ignorant about football, but his pseudo-intellectual babble is insulting.

Dear Archie, you are right on. I hate listening to Dennis Miller and usually mute him...he makes the football game less of a sport. I also hate the women on the sidelines- I want the old players back commenting from the sidelines. Most of the women commentators are terrible. How about a good ole fashion review of all games during half time too?

That's interesting...have always found Dennis Miller to be somewhat funny in a smart-alecky way--I've seen him be very sarcastic about 'stars' and their egos on occasion...nice to know he can draw the line at ridiculing a former soldier...BTW read in the NY Post last week that James Gandolfini (aka Tony Soprano) was at a fundraiser for the WTC victims and Steve Buscemi, a former firefighter who helped for a week in the clean-up recovery ops at the WTC, was having a hard time giving his speech because he kept getting choked up...anyway the chattering celebrities in the audience were suddenly shocked when Gandolfini stood up and told them to shut up, that it wasn't about them, that it was about the real heroes who died...it's nice to know that there are some real people among our rich and famous stars.
