“Yeah, but too bad its not a debate.”
It’s going to be a “Gatchafest”.
The winner will be the one who’s most effective at slapping down the inquisitors and the false premises behind everyone of their questions.
The winner will be the one whos most effective at slapping down the inquisitors and the false premises behind everyone of their questions.
*********
Not necessarily— that was the winning ticket last time around. So, one can bet, each candidate will have canned remarks at the ready to do just what you suggest.
The winner will be the one who finds the “new” way to arouse the audience.
Gotcha fest? Of course. Anyone who’s actually been in a real formal debate knows it bears no resemblance to the minefield exercise that passes for a presidential “debate”, from Kennedy-Nixon till today. The closest thing I ever saw was the sit down table talk between Lieberman and Cheney in 2000. That was civil, substantive, and enlightening, and never been repeated for a reason. The press are committed character assassins for the Democrats and the two targets who know best how to handle them are Cruz and Trump.
