James Lewis at The American Thinker: Conservatives must act
[...] Six months before November 2008, many conservatives are down in the dumps. John McCain is behind in the money race. George Will thinks we are doomed --- an amazing thing to say, half a year before a toss-up election. Even Rush is in a sulk about John McCain.
But the stakes are higher than they have been in the last fifty years. No major US political party has ever nominated a radical Leftist before --- and Obama can't hide his real loyalties. Even Bill Clinton was more of a 'moderate' Democrat. Obama is a True Believer in the Left, like a younger Hillary Clinton after a sex change and a major sun tan.
The last attempt by the radical Left to conquer the US presidency was defeated by Harry Truman in 1948. Well, the Dems have now allowed a true radical to win their nomination, and they seem to be thrilled by their new messiah.
Will the American people be taken in by the Left? That's the crucial question that will decide the historic election of '08. [...]
Will the American People be taken in by the Left? Silly question that. Quite a few Conservatives or those that claim to be one are throwing hissy fits about McCain I don't begrudge them that because I agree. However, we are at war and if Conservatives "stay home" or throw their vote away to "teach the GOP a lesson", they are dumber than a box of turtle turds and kick every single Troop right square in the groin. Thanks for nothing.

Sorry, I'm voting for the non-socialist candidate. I was hoping it'd be Hunter, Thompson, or even Huckabee fer cripes sake.
But no... Barr it is...
Au contraire, mon amie. Voting for McCain (unless he changes convincingly between now and November)will invite catastrophe under the Republicans’ watch. I’d rather the ship list to port under the Democrats. Either way, we face four rough years. Let the Rats take the blame.
Yes, seeing differences is not your strong suit. I agree with the article 1000%.
Bob Barr, against the war and pull out same as Obama.
Bob Barr for legalization of drugs.
Bob Barr anti-PATRIOT Act just as the socialists
The list goes on.
You can keep your socialist
Here in AZ, I voted for the Libertarian candidate when McCain was up for Senator the last two times.
McCain's 93 year old Mama, Roberta, told us Conservatives not long ago, "Well, you're just going to have to hold your nose and vote for my son, Johnny." To me, that's arrogance in its rawest form ... No, Roberta, I can't do that.
g in AZ
Surrender monkey? Gimme a break.
None of which your boy Jaun McCainendez gives more than lip service too in his efforts to pander to every group at once.
Between the two, McCain has a lifetime ACU rating of 82 and Barr's is 98.
Socialist? Hardly. Jerk another knee RINO.
He is. The template is Republican or Democrat though. Media ignores pretty much everyone else unless they are hard core socialists or billionaires.
Give you a break? Give you a banana.
Yeah, help Obama by voting for Barr. That’s using your head.
Win without us...
Another type of candidate I NEVER vote for is one who proudly declares to be good friends with Ted Kennedy, one of the most disgusting creatures to ever walk the halls of Congress.
Surrender monkey? Gimme a break.
Sheesh...
I’m voting for Petraeus.
To bad you did’t read my tag line.
and how ever you cut it, Barr holds the worst and Marxist view of all,
anti war and pull out just like the other Marxists.
Wow. Al Gore's presidential campaign staff is behind that web site? Whoodathunkit? No wonder Al was so slow to endorse.
I’d say if these people that keep telling me I HAVE to hold my nose & vote for McPain really, REALLY don’t want Obama to be our next president - they had better do & say everything they possibly can to get rid of Juan McCain by the time the convention ends. I don’t know how it would happen, but if enough people would make their disgust with this man be heard loud enough - I think it’s worth the try.
I won a nickname, "The Great Communicator." But I never thought it was my style or the words I used that made a difference: It was the content. I wasn't a great communicator, but I communicated great things, and they didn't spring full bloom from my brow, they came from the heart of a great nation from our experience, our wisdom, and our belief in principles that have guided us for two centuries. They called it the Reagan revolution. Well, I'll accept that, but for me it always seemed more like the great rediscovery, a rediscovery of our values and our common sense.
Guilty as charged and IMHO I'm in good company. McRat can go to hades.
Meh, the PATRIOT act isn't really anything great.
McCain is anti-second amendment, has an F from the NRA and the GOA, believes in the global warming tripe, is for amnesty for illegal aliens, among other things.
I would so take Barr and his baggage over McCain and his baggage any day. The only reason I consider McCain is to stop Obama. But if McCain picks a bad VP, I'm out.
