It kinda scared me when I read long ago that "Mc" means "Son of" in the Gaelic or Irish, so we have "Son of Cain". Wow.

“Mc” or “Mac” does not mean “son of”, it means “of the people”.

If he were to be in the medieval period, and in Scotland, he might write his name “John Johnson McCain”, since his father was also named John.
