A Comment on the Allegations of Cruz's Infidelity
March 29, 2016 | grey_whiskers

By now, everyone with an IQ above that of roofing tar has heard of the allegations of sexual infidelity by Sen. Ted Cruz (Cuban - TX (by way of Canada)).

I do not intend to review the entire timeline of this controversy, nor to engage in rumor mongering against Cruz, nor against Trump; still less to attribute the stories to any other candidate's campaign or shadow cabal or conspiracy.

I just wish to note that last night, Sen. Cruz held a press conference with Carly Fiorina (ex-CEO, Lucent) in which he was asked to affirm that he had never had an affair. But even as he hesitated before answering, Carly Fiorina interrupted. Quoting from the article:

‘Why do you all dance to Donald Trump’s tune?’ she demanded to know of about 15 reporters in the room. ‘Let’s talk about the issues, please!’

DailyMail.com directed the question a second time at Cruz when Fiorina had finished.

‘Senator I’m sorry, this is a very serious question about your character,’ the second question came.

‘Will you just – if the answer is, “Yes, I’ve always been faithful to my wife,” can you just say so please?’

His practised answer stuck to the more limited denial that the National Enquirer story was false, calling it ‘complete garbage.’

‘It is total lies, it was planted by Donald Trump’s henchmen, and I don’t think the people of Wisconsin or the people of America have any interest in tabloid trash.’

A couple of things immediately came to mind.

1) Why is it another politician, and a female one at that, who is on the podium with him, instead of his wife?

2) Why does this female have to answer for him?

3) The reporter practically spoon fed him words to say to make the scandal go away. Why didn't he take the hint and the lifeline?

and finally...

4) why does his answer "...it was planned by Donald Trump's henchmen" remind me of Hillary and the Blue Dress?

It must be a vast Donald Trump conspiracy.

[[1) Why is it another politician, and a female one at that, who is on the podium with him, instead of his wife?]]

Why because obviously he’s having an affair with that super hot babe Carly- Shhhhhh- don’t tell her husband- he might get jealous

[[1) Why is it another politician, and a female one at that, who is on the podium with him, instead of his wife?]]

Golly- it just couldn’t be because he is trying to get the californai vote or anything- oh heck no, it’s just got to be because he’s having affairs left and right!

[[2) Why does this female have to answer for him?]]

Perhaps you missed the part where he answered?

[[ 3) The reporter practically spoon fed him words to say to make the scandal go away. ]]

LOL that’s rich- Yep- Had CRuz obeyed some idiotic demand to jump through hoops whilst whistling dixie the ‘controversy would be over’ (Because it’s not like trump supporters don’t believe a word he says, ever, or anything- oh wait- they don’t!)

[[Why didn’t he take the hint and the lifeline?]]

Because When someone isn’t drowning they don’t need one? He’s got nothing to hide- and everyone jumping to conclusions are pissed because He won’t do a little jig for them on demand

[[nor to engage in rumor mongering against Cruz,]]

Nope- no siree- not you- See the above quoted ‘questions’- no inciting rumor mongering and gossip going on there- nope- none whatsoever

She's blaming Trump/Trump folks for "smearing her reputation"? Yikes.

Scavino was RTing videos with the allegations in them. So yeah. Trump people were smearing her reputation.

it could be a signal that the Cruz campaign is headed for a major train wreck.

And of course, we all know that Trump tampered with the brakes. LOL.

Seriously, is it just me, or does there not seem to be a ton of venom and rage from those who attack Trump endlessly? Honest criticism of Trump is fine, but those who want to scapegoat him for everything seem to be so full of anger. It's sad.

No, we just don’t go into a feeding frenzy and post every rumor, tweet and anonymous speculation. You said the truth will come out and it will. There are more important issues to deal with on FR.

Yes and there is no Conservative congress.

I was just thinking of a one big middle finger salute to the Uniparty.

Four years is all to shake it up and destroy it.

The name is not champ BTW but you knew that. I was trying to be civil but it appears that you're not attempting to be.

Didn't see Carly, don't have a tv and won't waste the data on the phone.

The truth will come out shortly and let the chips fall where they may.

I just feel that the rancor developing between the supporters of Trump and Cruz is not going to help beat "The Witch".

I have problems with both Trump and Cruz but will vote for either one and yes, it will most likely be Trump.

I held my nose and voted for Romney and McCain but would not vote for Kaisich, Rubio or Yeb.

I don’t know if Cruz had affairs or not. I don’t really care but then again what has that to do with whether or not he’d be a good president?

Marital infidelity is certainly news, and relevant, if it is committed by somebody who claims to be devoutly religious, because, at the very least it would be a demonstration of rank hypocrisy.

At least in Donald Trump's case, he has long ago admitted his mistakes and moved on. It's old news, in essence. I doubt very much if he's proud of his prior unfaithfulness.

Ted Cruz was given a golden opportunity today, at least to categorically state that he has been totally faithful to his wife, and yet instead he again deflected for no reason that I can fathom.

And Ted Cruz's submissive and passive demeanor today, wherein he let "Mama Carly" commandeer a question addressed to himself, was extremely awkward, and made Cruz look very weak. Extremely bad optics.

Furthermore, the reporter was basically begging Cruz to make a clear and concise statement to clear up the whole matter; but instead it was total deflection by both Cruz and Mama Carly.

Donald Trump has become a catch-all boogeyman for the Cruz campaign, which literally can't string 2 sentences together without demonstrating their total obsession with Trump, who, apparently, is single-handedly responsible for every woe that hits the Cruz campaign.

It looks absolutely pathetic and desperate, especially since everybody knows that it was the Rubio campaign that was trying to give this story legs weeks ago, and whose perpetrators have been deleting Tweets in an effort to scour the record and cover their tracks.

Additionally, the entire media corps has been aware of these Cruz stories for months and months, so it's obvious that Trump isn't the genesis of this.

Furthermore, there's this curious transfer of $500,000 from a Cruz superPAC to a Fiorina superPAC, which seemingly coincides with the employment of one of Cruz's alleged mistresses, Sarah Isgur Flores, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not aware of any explanation that has been given for that payment. It sure seems odd.

DeflecTED...

This whole thing reminds me of a Mythbusters episode where they take an 84 or so Corvette and put a pigs carcass in it for over a month.

No matter how much they cleaned, steamed, sprayed chemicals and even the removal of anything that was porus the car was essentially destroyed, sold for scrap.

Why are we even wasting time on phantom Ted Cruz affairs that never happened instead of going after the world's champion serial adulterer, Donald Trump who has made a profession out of cheating on his wives often with other men's wives?

Is that why Ted Cruz's poll numbers have SHOT UP in Wisconsin and California and even nationally since Trump and his top pal who runs The National Enquirer launched their creepy smear job on Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is getting killed by Hilary Clinton by double digits in the latest Bloomberg and Fox News polls?
American are not buying the slop tRump is selling.
