On Saturday, The Gateway Pundit reported that the Republican-led Texas House on Saturday impeached highly popular Attorney General Ken Paxton over allegations of misconduct.

The 20 articles of impeachment include “bribery, unfitness for office, and abuse of public trust.”

Ken Paxton was impeached by the Republican-led House (85 Rs to 64 Ds) and will be suspended effective immediately.

The vote tally: 121 ayes – 23 nays – 2 ‘present not voting

For final removal, it would require a 2/3 vote in the Senate.

Paxton said in a statement that the events that unfolded were illegal, unethical, and profoundly unjust. He expressed optimism for a swift resolution in the Texas Senate, where he believes the process will be fair and just.

On Saturday morning, President Trump warned Speaker Dade Phelan and the Texas RINOs that if this unfair process proceeds – “I WILL FIGHT YOU!”

So what if Paxton cheated on his wife and had a supporter hire her to shut her up. It’s not like we’re talking a football coach molesting boys.

I have regretted voting for him in the 2022 primary, but fear of Beto led me to spurn Allen West or Don Huffines, who would have been bolder.

The vote for the 20 articles of impeachment in the Republican House was a decisive 121-23 vote. Abbott remaining silent is the right move. This is not a hill to die on. The trial will take place in the Senate.

Trump doesn’t know how states work…or impeachments—which is kind of ironic.

What did he expect Abbott to do? Stop one of the most lopsided impeachments in Texas history?

Abbott has been MIA throughout the entire thing. Didn’t take Trump to make some people notice that.

Good for Trump on this. The whole thing is one of the most disturbing political stories in my life. Popular Republican DA gets stealth-impeached on a holiday weekend by an overwhelmingly Republican Texas House for no legal reason. It means that Texas (to say nothing of other red states) is full of occulted Democrats who hold office as Republicans.

He’s getting the Eric Greitens treatment. Almost identical to the removal of my Governor in Missouri by the same sort of rat republicans.

I finally got to see the video of the house speaker incoherently rambling. He was either smashed out his mind or else he should have been taken to the hospital as a stroke victim. And that is the guy leading the impeachment against Paxton. Nothing happens to him. Sorry Texas but you have been infiltrated, and your republican representatives are very corrupt.

I have family living in El Paso.. its not safe there. If.when a state is being invaded and the federal branch does nothing, Every state can put military on their border to protect the people.
TX is busing them north and border wide open

This is understanding POLITICS. Something people on this forum either ignore or don't understand.

Doesn't mean I like it or you like it, but it's the reality.

The only thing that makes sense is that the cartels own Abbott. Just imagine the things he COULD have accomplished of he had wanted to. He’s getting paid to not want to.
