VIDEO: South Florida TV Weatherman Plays "Climate Change" Politics

VIDEO

They are getting soooo desperate over Joe Biden's diminishing 2024 election chances that now weathermen are engaging in political campaigning while absurdly PRETENDING they are not campaigning. One such weatherman is Steve MacLaughlin of WTVJ's NBC6 station down here in South Florida. Watch how he jumps up on the Climate Change (Global Warming) bandwagon to lecture the audience while piously pretending he would never tell us who to vote for while obviously telling us who NOT to vote for. (Hint: NOT Trump, WINK! WINK!).

Is it too much to ask weathermen to simply report on the weather and stay OUT of politics?

Indeed. It’s all part of their agenda to enslave us all.

He should be forced to offer a rebuttal or be fined for illegal contribution.

The Left keeps renaming the same scams over and over again

If Pancakes aren't selling, try renaming them Hot Cakes.

Good point.

If rising ocean levels were a real problem, beachfront property should be selling for pennies on the dollar!

Who in their right mind would want oceanfront property?

I have done my research and found that NOT ONE prediction has come true in decades of time. Go back and watch Inconvenient Truth, and note the dates given for flooding and ice melting and some of the deadlines are decades past due. Remember Greenland was supposed to be a garden by now, NYC was supposed to be underwater and as far as I know the water level hasn't gone up one inch in 20 years, Is there a northern passage through the ice in winter yet?

There has been enough time to observe any change in the last 20 years and I can't find one prediction that has come true. Remember AOC saying we will all die in 12 years 13 years ago? Even what's her name (How dare you), has switched to Gazza as a cause instead of cow farts.Anyone can see that literally trillions of dollars has been transferred to Liberal groups in the name of "climate change". It's a scam and has always been a scam.

I'm 73 years old and have seen record heat, record cold, and hurricanes and tornado's and the one thing you can count on is there will be more weather changes next year. It had more to do with sun spots than CO2. In fact CO2 is a very small reason for temp changes. Clouds and moisture are more important than CO2. Besides most of us already know China and India aren't going to spend $100 to fix anything. This is just a scam to get tax money to elect liberals.

the weatherman mentions: (1) heat, (2) rain and flooding, (3) insurance rates and (4) corals

(1) heat - heat and heat-effect is increasing in Florida but not because of climate change. Rather, because of urbanization and the urban heat island effect.

Brick and cement absorb heat and then radiate it back out. They turn cities into convection ovens.

Trees and green spaces in general are a good remedy.

https://thefield.asla.org/2021/07/22/urban-trees-strategies-for-reducing-urban-heat-island-in-cities/

Also consider: water as in man-made ponds and canals which are popular in Florida; and, development of alternative materials than brick and cement for sidewalks, parking lots and maybe even streets.

If we weren’t so quick to blame climate change, we might actually focus on the real problem of heat and heat-effect; namely, the urban heat-island effect.

2. Rain and flooding - we are learning that these have multi-year cycles. Hence, we recently had a 17-year hiatus of hurricanes reaching land in the U.S. Then, hurricanes came back, seemingly with avengeance.

Ditto in California. An extended period of drought followed by a multi-year period of excessive rainfall.

States like California should consider adding to the capacity of their dams, in order to convert variable rainfall into a steady flow of water.

Florida might not appear to have this option. On the other hand, everyplace in Florida is close to the sea. Florida can design its natural and man-made waterways so as to protect the state as much as possible from surges in rainfall.

(3) Insurance rates - I’m sorry. Property values are up, so that all kinds of insurance rates are higher. On the other hand, deaths associated with hurricanes and other natural disasters are down.

Would you rather live in the middle of the country and be far from the ocean to get cheaper rates?

A big part of climate alarmism is being unrealistic about what, really, are our choices. It’s believing energy comes out of sockets, instead of from electricity generating plants that run, mostly, on coal. Or that wind turbines magically appear, instead of being made in China using lots of coal; and, that when wind turbines break down, their blades magically disappear, instead of being un-recyclable bundles of toxic materials.

(4) Florida’s coral reef (the country’s only coral reef, and the world’s third largest coral reef) is doing fine, having been under pressure during the late 20th Century for a variety of causes.

But, you know climate alarmists. Carbon-dioxide is the cause of everything, so why even be concerned about over-fishing, water pollution, or the introduction of disease into the coral population? Real stewards of the environment are concerned about actual causes and actual remedies. Not turning carbon dioxide into the bogeyman of these times.

The ‘climate change’ lunacy is all over the local and national networks.

For example, it’s not weather forecasting anymore, and it’s about the climate changing. Case in point. the local CBS station in Tampa is now known as the ‘climate change specialists’; they no longer just predict the weather. Even the FOX local station in Tampa flavors their weather reports with climate change occurrences, and every hurricane and every heavy thunderstorms in now due to ‘climate change’ or about how global warming is creating more occurrences of ‘extreme’ weather events. The term ‘weather’ is now obsolete and it’s either global warming events or climate-change events.

The el-niño events of recent months have been because of ‘climate change’, although those heavy rains have been normal occurrences for as long as weather has been forecast.

The language may be forced on us, but the truth can’t be changed.

2024! Hottest April on Record!
No. That would be 1972 Tulsa OK when the temp on April 12 was 102 degrees F. Some people had 106. I remember it well.

Granted.
I’d just like to see the reaction of the residents in Nebraska and Oklahoma when \their\ tax money is spent to “rescue” New York City.

The deadliest natural disaster to hit the US was the Galveston hurricane of 1900.

Imagine with this climate change hoax, the hysterics that would occur today if anything close to the Galveston hurricane happened.

Drudge has been pounding the southeast Florida heat wave story for almost one week!

They keep discussing the Heat Index - which is well above 100 degrees because of humidity - instead of posting the actual temperatures, which are in the upper 90s, which are just a couple degrees above the previous heat records for May.

For those who have not had the pleasure of visiting the Palm Beach to Miami corridor during the EIGHT MONTHS of Summer, it is a 10 mile by 70 mile mass of asphalt, concrete, cars, and human beings with New York or Hispanic accents.

The west coast of Florida routinely has temperatures in the upper 90s.

WTVJ (and in fact nearly 100% of local Miami media in all formats) is leftist liberal claptrap.

WTVJ, in fact, is owned by NBC/Comcast. They have been official sponsors of the Miami Beach parade celebrating homosexual behavior.
