Severe injuries to the knees is not a good thing for a man of his size. Yikes.

I guess it's better than death, but severe injuries to his knees doesn't at all bode well for his football career. Now that we know he won't die, I admit I'm getting a bit p.o'ed at him.

His career has been put in serious jeopardy due to the double knee injuries, and is at least on hold for a long painful rehab. This is a shame--I'm no Steelers fan but as a fan of the sport I recognize that Ben was one of the QBs of the future. Here's hoping he pulls thru and is able lead a full life, and also be able to play football again soon.

...lost many teeth Well, if he does come back go play, maybe he'll be a new breed of quarterback. One who looks like Jack Lambert and scares the opposing players just because of the way he looks. :) 'Cause he sure ain'g gonna be a pretty face the next time we see him.
The new face of NFL quarterbacks?
I wish you luck Ben! I got knocked off of my motorcycle on the Ventura Freeway at 70mph several years ago, and am thankful that I had a full face helmet on. After I came to a stop I could no longer see through the visor because it was so scraped up, and it had a big ding on the back of the thing.... but all that happened to me was that I got scraped up knees. Oddly, it took about 36 hours before it started to really hurt. My ribcage felt like I had gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson. But my face was still just as pretty as it's always been! :)

As a Steelers fan, I wonder if it would be out of line for me to speculate on whether Campbell's will use his six weeks of drinking Chunky Soup through a straw in their commercials next year? Maybe I will hold off.

The extent of his injuries was not known, although the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that police said Roethlisberger lost most of his teeth, fractured his left sinus cavity bone, suffered a 9-inch laceration to the back of his head and a broken jaw, and severely injured both of his knees.
