If you've watched many Texas Rangers' games on TV (or other local programming), you may have seen commercials for the Brown Hand Center, a chain of surgery clinics specializing in carpal tunnel injuries. There's one in Bedford, on the Airport Freeway near Forest Ridge Drive.
The commercials feature Michael Brown, the bearded, smiling founder of the Houston-based company, sitting in a cozy office with his wife and children (or actors playing them). The commercials end with him saying, "In the Brown Hand Center, we'll care for you just as I care for my own family." Then a little girl climbs into his lap and says, in a too-cute voice, "Daddy's baby girl."
If police and prosecutors in Harris County are correct, patients might hope for better treatment than what Brown dishes out to his family.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Brown, 53, was arrested earlier this month and charged with assaulting his wife -- his fourth wife -- "by twisting her arm behind her back, court records show."
