A whole lot of lameness in that list.

I probably read a third of them. I would recommend about half the ones I read.

—which means I wouldn’t read unless a gun was pointed at my head-—

I went through the whole list...I’ve read 5. My take is that most of them are well written crap. Content...zip.

Read most of them. some were made into excellent movies.

If you wish to read books in every portion of the library by Dewey Decimal category, then you must read the 453 books written by Issac Asimov!

His Sci Fi was outstanding but there are other books that reflect on this genius!

I didn’t see “Atlas Shrugged” on the list.

Odd list. 25 of 75, I must be one of the great unwashed in flyover land.

Lol, I’ve never seen Raymond Carver at the top of a reading list before. I think Carver’s “Cathedral” collection is way better, however.

Starship Troopers, Clockwork Orange, Iliad/Odyssey need to be in there too. Get Bukowski out of there; no one reads that **** anymore. And On the Road beats Dharma Bums anyday. Lotta great books in this list, however.

I’ve been reading a lot of Michael Chabon lately, and his writing is a kick in the ass.

What do you want to bet “A Patriot’s History of the United States” isn’t one? :)

Underworld by Don DeLillo — worth reading or leftist pap or both?

I guess I’ve read about half of them. Haven’t heard of a quarter of them. The rest are really long and I only have so much time left.

I’ve read and enjoyed 11 of those suggestions. A few more of them I’d be interested in reading someday, maybe, but I’ve a library of unread books on my shelves that I would have to get through first.

The list of Hollywood propaganda, now outdated, I can’t imagine anyone under 30 reading most of this junk.

I’ve read a dozen or so and they were all worthy of the list.
