AA flight shares close encounter with 'fast-moving cylindrical object'
MSN ^ | 02/22/2021 | Luke Kenton For Dailymail.com

In a radio transmission allegedly intercepted by Steve Douglass, who runs the Deep Black Horizon blog, the pilot can be heard telling Albuquerque Air Traffic Control: ‘Do you have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us.

‘I hate to say this but it looked like a long cylindrical object that almost looked like a cruise missile type of thing - moving really fast right over the top of us.’

A fine movie.

Whatever it was, three guys with particularly bad hair days and a slow-talking north of England man will spin it out for about fifty minutes of TV you sort of forget you’re watching around minute four.

If God created the universe along with the human race, why couldn’t He come up with other types of intelligent beings, also? Plenty of room out there.

Well that's convenient. He'll be on the "History" channel in no time.

A hundred billion stars in the galaxy on the low end, and we’re the only planet with life?

Scientists WAY smarter than you or I think so. Read Ward & Brownlee's book from the 90s, "Rare Earth". They think only Earth has complex life in this galaxy, and perhaps there are a few other worlds with bacteria-level life. Theologically, I've got no problem with Earth being alone in having biological life. Sure, they're other life in the Universe, but it's spiritual (angels/demons).

I used to think like you until I heard all of the arguments for the rare earth theory.

A couple of the more compelling points...

Either Jupiter or Saturn (I forget which one) was captured by our solar system and it’s gravitational pull prevented the other one from descending into a very close orbit around the sun and taking out all of the interior planets billions of years ago. A large percentage of the other solar systems we have observed have an enormous gas giant orbiting very close to their sun.

The two leading theories on where life started on earth are either in shallow tidal pools or near undersea volcanoes. Tides are caused by the enormous size of our moon which was created by a collision of earth and another body billions of years ago. Other moons that we have observed are not nearly as big as our moon. It is extremely rare.

Plate tectonics that create undersea volcanoes are also very rare.

Our rotating iron core creates a magnetic cage which protects us from the sun’s radiation.

All of these things (along with a bunch of others) make the Earth a VERY unique place. It is entirely possible that only the Earth could sustain complex life to the point where it could become intelligent.

The question isn’t ‘what he could do?’, it’s ‘what did he do’?

Since this sighting took place in the southwestern part of the country, I think what the pilot saw was Wile E. Coyote riding an Acme rocket, which had gone out of control.

Hubble Telescope

Ultra Deep Field: Looking Out into Space, Looking Back into Time

This six-minute visual exploration of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field showcases the characteristics and contents of this landmark observation, as well as its four-dimensional nature across both space and time. In particular, galaxies are seen to more than 12 billion light-years away / 12 billion years ago, allowing astronomers to trace the development of galaxies across cosmic time.

A deep field is a long exposure on a small field of view to observe the faintest objects possible. The Ultra Deep Field (UDF) represents the deepest visible light observation of the universe (deeper views are extensions / subsets of this 2004 image). Containing about 10,000 sources, the UDF provides a statistical sample of galaxies across the universe.

In this sequence, the three-dimensional model of the UDF data set uses NASA and other images and source catalogs. More than 5000 galaxies with cross-matched image cutout and distance measure are placed in their correct relative position throughout the long thin pyramid of the observation. To keep the fly-throughs succinct, the depth of the pyramid is shortened by a factor of a few hundred.

And then there are those who will say that evidence of intelligence out there is that they have not contacted us...

I would argue that it’s extreme hubris to assume Alien races would WANT to contact us. For instance, you may be aware of the ants that live in the hill at the end of your driveway, but you don’t spend any time down there speaking to them.

However, if they become annoying enough, by say, moving into your kitchen, you eradicate them.

This is what I’d be concerned with.
