A hundred billion stars in the galaxy on the low end, and we’re the only planet with life? There’s hundreds of billions of observed galaxies.

There are those that will ask “where’s the evidence?” What if they’re communicating by a means we haven’t discovered yet?

And then there are those who will say that evidence of intelligence out there is that they have not contacted us.

Back in the '70s we took the kids tp Palomar observatory. They had one wall covered with the farthest photo of the universe so far. In the lower left was a circled bright object. I figured it was the farthest star - it was the farthest GALAXY. Blew my mind.

Most of them so many light years away that we don’t they still exist. Their light has reached us after 100’s of million years.

There are those that will ask “where’s the evidence?”

That would be me. So many phenomenon we can’t explain right here on earth. (Sprites for one.)

Scientists WAY smarter than you or I think so. Read Ward & Brownlee's book from the 90s, "Rare Earth". They think only Earth has complex life in this galaxy, and perhaps there are a few other worlds with bacteria-level life. Theologically, I've got no problem with Earth being alone in having biological life. Sure, they're other life in the Universe, but it's spiritual (angels/demons).

I used to think like you until I heard all of the arguments for the rare earth theory.

A couple of the more compelling points...

Either Jupiter or Saturn (I forget which one) was captured by our solar system and it’s gravitational pull prevented the other one from descending into a very close orbit around the sun and taking out all of the interior planets billions of years ago. A large percentage of the other solar systems we have observed have an enormous gas giant orbiting very close to their sun.

The two leading theories on where life started on earth are either in shallow tidal pools or near undersea volcanoes. Tides are caused by the enormous size of our moon which was created by a collision of earth and another body billions of years ago. Other moons that we have observed are not nearly as big as our moon. It is extremely rare.

Plate tectonics that create undersea volcanoes are also very rare.

Our rotating iron core creates a magnetic cage which protects us from the sun’s radiation.

All of these things (along with a bunch of others) make the Earth a VERY unique place. It is entirely possible that only the Earth could sustain complex life to the point where it could become intelligent.

Yes. Where is the evidence?

You are making the argument that they travel all that way to get here and dont bother to say “howdy”?

Or are you one of those who says the travel all this way, throw a fanbelt, crash and we reverse engineer their technology?

There are no aliens here buzzing airliners. Any thoughts to the contrary have a human explanation.

Again, where is the evidence?

Then they can’t be that smart. Why communicate with something that does not comprehend you? Would you expect a dog to hear and understand morse code? If not, would you keep on sending morse code to the dog?
They should be able to figure out a way to get our attention. After all...there are hundreds of billions of galaxies.

#12. Have you seen and heard the Democrats in Congress and the White House? Overwhelming proof that there is “life” elsewhere in the universe and we were stupid enough to let people vote for them.

Tell me Stacey Abrams, Sheila Lee-Jackson, Maxine Waters, AOC, Jayapal, Tlaib, Omar, Hironi, Pelosi and others like them are “of this earth”. I double secretly dare you!!
