On Sunday, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy declared, "We've been seeing health misinformation as a problem for years, but the speed, scale and sophistication with which it is spreading and impacting our health is really unprecedented."
Perhaps the surgeon general should look in the mirror and lecture the FDA for dissuading people from taking lifesaving ivermectin. Over the weekend, the FDA tweeted out a message warning that ivermectin is for horses and cows, not people, implying that it is dangerous to consume and is not approved for humans.
Evidently, officials believe that millions of human beings in Africa (not to mention thousands in the Western world) are no better than animals.
Ivermectin has been dispensed 3.7 billion times in African countries since 1987 and is regarded as one of the greatest cures of all time for a disease ailing human beings. Here are the facts.

Ivermectin is ivermectin. The differences are in the regulatory pathways. There may also be some differences in excipients depending on the species the drug is to be used on.
For animals not intended for consumption—horses and pet rabbits for example—there is one pathway. For animals intended for fosod it must be shown the drug either is not in finished meat or that it does not harm people/other animals when consumed (other animals typically are dogs and cats).
We had this issue years ago in fisheries, wherein one researcher dosed fish with tetracycline to mark otoliths for age determination, the put the fish out to sea. The problem was the legality of dosing animals with a drug and releasing them into the wild—it is illegal although tetracycline is both a human and veterinary drug.
Cheap, effective therapeutics are the last thing pharmaceutical companies want. It might jeopardize their federal funding.

Cannabidiol from weed and found in CBD oil is under investigation as an antiviral to SARS-CoV-2. Since it is not psychoactive you can buy it legally.

I won’t take that either, as I am concentrating on prevention.
I eat healthy, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, and meditate daily.
I take vitamin C, D3, Quercetin, and Zinc.
In the mornings I have a pre/probiotic drink with fish oil.
I typically go for a 3 mile walk daily. (Sun & relaxation)
