I’ve made the same point since Apr of last year.
We don’t know that.
And the (former) patron was right to use the segregation card; make the leftists quake in their boots for a second or two, because the ramifications of “vaccine” passports even at large are society-wrecking.
If the guy didn’t stand up and start his potty-mouthed rant, he’d probably elicit more sympathy. Instead he rudely dissed his fellow diners and everyone else in the restaurant. Their response was entirely predictable.
The problem is blacks and the media won't acknowledge this as totalitarianism. The narrative will be this is "racism".
Unfortunately liberals will promote this as "vaccine racism" or whatever to distract from the real issue of authoritarianism and forced compliance.
Either way the 'racist White man' will be blamed.
Black Americans are least vaccinated, the Dems know that. They just put a different dress on it.
Sneetches is a good illustration of what’s going on but this is more like Mark of the Beast stuff than anything else.
Are we now going to have ‘vaccinated’ and ‘unvaccinated’ lunch counters, restrooms and water fountains?
They aren’t even issuing fines to restaurants that don’t comply.
They know that New York City is filled with COVID frightened Leftists. A lot of these restaurant owners are enforcing the rules simply out of fear of angering the Left leaning population.
It’s just another example of self enforcement. And the more people that are willing to self enforce, the more the government feels emboldened to impose more mandates.
Since this mandate is brand new, the restaurant owners are more worried about alienating the COVID frightened than they are about losing customers.
I suspect that will change, as the the unvaxed will flock to the restaurants that built nice outdoor dining areas with heaters. Not every restaurant owner has the space, the money, or the know how to build these. And in general, it’s nice to dine alfresco in a bustling city.
If four people go out to dinner together, and one of them is not vaxed, they will all be forced to dine outdoors, and will even prefer it, at least until Winter arrives.
So as someone who lives in NYC, my plan is to dine in Nassau county or NJ whenever I can. And if I have to dine within the 5 boros, I will patronize the places with outdoor seating. Let the places with no outdoor seating feel the pinch, and let’s see how many are willing to break the rules in a few months.

NAH....the Alpha Hotels I'm against now are the same ones I was against pre-COVID. They're just more easily identifiable today.
It's kinda hard to make a credible argument for a religious exemption with a mouth like that in front of your children.
