We have a huge salt problem. Millions will die without action, WHO warns.

Seven million people could die of diseases linked to excessive salt consumption before the decade's end unless governments immediately pass tighter restrictions on salt, a report by the World Health Organization warned this month. Its authors are calling on governments to implement stricter sodium targets for food, mark salt content more clearly on packaging and boost public awareness of the health dangers posed by eating a lot of salty food.

"Excessive sodium intake is the top risk factor for an unhealthy diet, and it is responsible for 1.8 million deaths each year," said Francesco Branca, director of the WHO's Department of Nutrition for Health and Development.

Eating too much salt is one of the causes of cardiovascular disease, which kills an estimated 17.9 million people each year, according to the WHO. It can also lead to strokes, which kill 5 million people each year globally - and other serious medical conditions.

This is from the racketeers of the WHO. Note that Biden wants to sign a treaty giving WHO legal authority to regulate US healthcare, medical treatments, over and above our own government. If by some nightmare this should pass, this kind of totalitarian micro control will become the status quo. Salt intake e.g., will be regulated by law.

As I’ve found out too recently.

Sugar can raise BP just as much as, if not more than, salt.

Indeed, lower salt to tiny amounts, and can still have high BP. Reduce sugar, aka Keto/Atkins, and BP goes to 120/80 like levels.

For the vast majority of people, this is nonsense.

As far as my reading goes, salt consumption does not increase disease, except in a very small number of people with pre-exising conditions.

Lots of fear mongering about this sort of thing.

I would rather eat pasta and bread and cake, but I don't want to take high BP pills and be obese.

So, keto's not so bad.

I also can't attest to the fact that keto keeps my head clear and my thinking sharp. Carbs are awful for brain fog. Grain brain it's called.

I would suggest that keto and coffee will add about 10-20 points to your IQ.;-) That pushes mine up to about 80.

If I start identifying as a minority, I think I can get into medical school.

Salt is not the issue. SUGAR is the issue. That’s what’s killing most of the people in industrialized countries in the world. Sugar and highway processed foods.

I though Sugar has largely been replaced by HFCS in processed foods.

Not eating enough salt can result in memory loss and dementia like symptoms.

Wow. I totally forgot that!

HFCS. High Fructose Corn Sugar is just another name for sugar. At last count I think I found a list of 52 ingredients that are all just fractional types of sugar type sweetness. In the Army Master Fitness Course, that was one of the subjects.

Science also has told us that HFCS is not recognized by the body the way sugar is. The body does not know how to handle it.
