The Chinese have not forgotten how the Japs slaughtered their people in WWII.

They have long memories.
I have a friend who was a Harvard language specialist (grad student) in Chinese languages, Vietnamese and Cambodian.
Surprise! He was drafted and sent to Vietnam as a translator of intercepted communications.
One conversation included a Chinese official gloating that they would send a million heroin addicts back to America in revenge for our role in the Opium Wars approximately 100 years prior.
Fortunately, as I understand it, a lot of U.S. servicemen were able to shed the drugs when they returned home.
Yet...China is still apparently still working on it with the Fentanyl.
