An adorable dog named Daisy somehow got her head stuck in the middle of a wheel and had to be rescued by New Jersey firefighters.

“Daisy found herself stuck in the rim of a tire at home,” the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Company said of Thursday’s bizarre call, without explaining exactly how the four-legged furball got there.

The poor lab looked forlorn and wet during the rescue op, where “Iinitial efforts to free her with soap and water were unsuccessful,” the fire service said.

Hard to tell. It’s not a great photo.

If the head went in, the head can come out. We had a yellow lab that did this twice.

Just rubbed Crisco all over her head and she came right out.

Seriously terrible. So glad the dog was freed.

My cat is named Daisy, hates and fears dogs, but she’s glad this doggie girl will be OK. Meow.

Not a very bright dog. It could not have been easy for the dog to get its head through that hole in the first place. Well at least sometimes stupid dogs make good dogs.

I would have thought a grinder would have been the tool of choice. That guy must be REALLY good at his plasma cutter! They pooch must have been wrapped in a welding spark blanket.

I would expect the best option to be some heavy duty pliars or steel snips or such. Just enough to bend the inner rim enough to slide out.

Neat thing about the plasma cutter is how little heat it actually puts into the base metal. Cutting that rim, you could cut an inch and put your finger on it 30 seconds later. Try that with oxygen/acetylene!

My worst experience was cutting a bearing race off of a guys finger. He would have had to look long and hard to find anything much tougher. I used a Dremel and little cut off wheels and he just said stop when it got too hot and dipped his hand in water. Stainless steel Rings come in second place.
