"I do not advocate for pot, only for the individuals right to choose."

Having the right to smoke pot is like voting. Not everyone has the smarts to do it wisely, or responsibly. I'm 77. Never smoked cigarettes, never smoked pot.

As someone with ptsd, not from military service, my time in the military was during peacetime, If it would calm those issues I’d readily partake, but it’s illegal. I’ve found I have to just keep busy all the time to keep my head from screwing with me.
I feel it’s a persons choice though and knowing people who do smoke it I feel it’s a far better choice than alcohol. I’ve never seen a mad high on😊

Never tried the stuff. Ever! Nor any of the other poisons.
Only smoked two cigarettes in my 77 year old life. One at 4 and one at 10. That was enough for me!

Life is too complicated with trying to figure it out while “high”.
Used to do light drinking alcohol till a seizure put me down. Now don’t even tough that.

Now Coffee is another matter! Got a big cup before me now.

What our nation needs in these contentious times is another narcotic.
People operating vehicles in heavy traffic or through pedestrian intersections.
Folks choosing to smoke dope all day rather than work.
Encouraging our already compromised youth to surrender to addiction.
Expediting fentanyl into our cities.
What could possibly constitute a downside?

Some people seem to handle it just fine.
But there is evidence that some people don’t. Mental problems can occur.

For a wide variety of reasons, our society seems to be full of people with mental problems.
Our society is steadily legalizing cannabis.

An open and honest discussion about the use of cannabis and the risk of mental problems in some people seems reasonable.

But some folks don’t want that discussion, and get very defensive, because they don’t want criminalization to return.

I have sciatica.
Pretty bad.
I am currently going through the shots in the back.
There is a cream I use, it is a THC/CBD based creme. I use it for pain at the site of the pain.
You do not get high from the creme ( it does not soak into the bloodstream) but it works wonders. My doctors know I use it. They do not recommend it, but they do not tell me to not use it.
My MIL is suffering with severe pain. Her doctor just told her to get the gummies that deal with pain only, and do not get you high.
It does have purposes other than getting high.

I hope this stays. I always find the best stuff by checking out a little history. I never know what I'll discover. Odd stories, details, and/or name connections provide the baked-in mnemonics. This alt-school methodology really makes things add up for the big teaching and healing:

>>>

In 1971, five high school students in San Rafael, California,[5][6] used the term "4:20" in connection with a plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop, based on a treasure map made by the grower.[7][8] Calling themselves the Waldos,[9][10] because their typical hang-out spot "was a wall outside the school",[11]...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture)

<<<

Great. "Outside the school". A clock time and a treasure map originating in San Raphael:

<<<

The *mission* from which the downtown grew and the city being named after the Archangel Raphael, the Angel of Healing.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Rafael,_California

<<<

Then as it turns out, the "420" page has a Hebrew side, where it is explained that 420 is pronounced four-twenty, like this:

"פור-טוונטי".

Which in turn adds up to 376: Shalom, peace.

Watch, people invariably will roll their...

...eyes.

Undeterred, I checked it out anyway, and that's nothing new .. plenty of peace-weed imagery already, such as

I've got no interest in smoking or consuming this stuff. I'm just it for the puns. The "40" really jumps out on this one. Tis the season where all that time is... wrapped up finally.

This "devil" weed is no match for the language of Pun-ish, because there's *always* something good out there to find and utilize. It's a Good News "Challenge".

smoke: (intransitive, slang, chiefly as present participle) To perform (e.g. music) energetically or skillfully.

Now I know why our local paper yesterday had a 8-page special section on pot entitled “420!” Pot is big down here in Oil Patch City - 25+ “dispensaries” in our small city and fifth in sales in the entire state. Why someone might ask? Because we are just 4 miles from the Texas border (we also have a casino and horse racing, neither available in west Texas). A local contractor is building small business strip malls (5 or 6 stores), but every one of them has a pot shop as the key business.

At some point they will become oversaturated but until then each one tries to impress buyers with ads about local grown weed or different types of candies or brownies. Of course, though pot might have some beneficial medical uses, there is a user segment that chases after more potent drugs that always leads to both an influx of drug dealers and petty crime as users need cash to buy the illegal drugs.

Pot is legal in California, where I live.

I am allergic to the smoke - husband swore it was the only thing that alleviated his cancer pain, but I insisted he smoke it in the garage. Later, he switched to the concentrated tinctures, which were very expensive. We also got CBD for our elderly arthritic dogs and that seemed to help.

I don’t have a problem with what people do in the privacy of their own homes - as long as they don’t do something stupid like get behind the wheel of a car. It seems there is an uptick of automobile accidents on our freeways lately, especially people going the wrong direction at high speeds causing catastrophic accidents, I read about one a month. Always wonder if it’s pot.

But then we have lax driving laws here when it comes to illegals and they think nothing of getting behind the wheel of a car drunk - and/or without a driver’s license, insurance or registration on the car. That and there are plenty of people on prescribed pain killers.

There are probably hundreds of medical excuses to smoke dope. I recall several years ago I told a coworker I had glaucoma. He said with a grin that I could smoke the stuff to get relief. What a joke. I use eye drops, they work fine.

I also have PTSD, the combat variety. I wouldn’t even think of using that crap or any other drug other than what’s legally prescribed by a competent medical doctor.

And I firmly believe dope smoking is just one rung on the ladder towards worse drugs, those that create violence or kill a person outright.

Im 61. Retired military. Been getting high on cannabis to one extreme or the other since I was 14. Que that responsibility thing. I am an advocate of all things Cannabinoid. CBD, THC, CBN etc. have made my life better. The 3 lvl back fusion and bad hip joint dont scream so much because of them.
What do I say to the MDs that kept me on opioids and benzos for 20+ years of off label use even through the Covid debacle? It only reinforced my convictions that doctors are trying to kill us. You tell me what Im supposed to do with that.
