Multinational food manufacturer Tyson Foods has been accused of dumping millions of pounds of toxic chemicals into lakes and rivers across the U.S.
The 370 million pounds of chemicals dumped by the food company include:
Nitrogen
Phosphorus
Chloride
Oil
Cyanide
The chemicals were reported to have to been released by the company’s 41 slaughterhouses and processing plants over the past five years.

According to the investigation by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS), the toxic chemicals were flushed from Tyson facilities during the release of wastewater. This water also was found to contain high concentrations of blood, harmful bacteria, and animal feces. Some of these waterways are used as a source of drinking water for Americans.
The multinational food manufacturer has also been criticized for hiring tens of thousands of migrant laborers in its facilities. Tyson Foods — along with many other American corporations — has used a Biden government program run by the nongovernmental organization (NGO) Tent Partnership for Refugees to employ so-called asylum seekers. Many of these individuals have likely entered the U.S. illegally.
As we reported last year, Tyson Foods announced it had invested in insect-protein supplier Protix and plans to build a partnership U.S. production facility.
“The American meatpacker said Tuesday that it agreed to buy a stake in Dongen, Netherlands-based Protix BV to help fund its expansion. The companies will also form a joint venture to build and operate a U.S. facility that will produce bug-based meal and oil, which are typically used in fish feed and dog food. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed,” Bloomberg reported.
The meat giant did not disclose the size of its minority stake it has taken in Protix.
Tyson Foods said:
“The strategic investment will support the growth of the emerging insect-ingredient industry and expand the use of insect-ingredient solutions to create more efficient sustainable proteins and lipids for use in the global food system.”
“It’s a multibillion-dollar industry opportunity that has tremendous growth potential, and we see Protix as being a leader there,” Tyson CFO John Tyson said in an interview.
First they hire a load of illegals, then they buy a massive stake in an insect protein company, and to add insult to injury they are polluting our rivers! Is there anything good about Tyson foods?

Some chain stores sell their own label chicken but they get it from Tyson. Example...Safeway. At both the deli (fried chicken) and the meat department it's labeled "Signature Farms" (Safeway). I asked in both departments where Safeway gets their chicken and both reply's were "Signature Farms". I asked "Safeway owns chicken farms and processing plants?" A "I dunno" look on the employees face. I asked them to check on the box of their chicken and see who supplied it. Deli and meat department came back with "Tyson".
Going back decades, Tyson seems to be one of those shady, toxic corporations, always being exposed for some evil.
I don’t patronize Tyson, and haven’t for a couple of decades.

Ick, that stuff probably doesn’t meet Tyson’s low standards.
I will take all above comments to heart and avoid Tyson, but when I see headlines like this I wonder if it’s govt. trying to kill American business.

I use a Waterwise water distiller for drinking water - I live in a city that swears the water supply is checked 10,000/times/day and is perfectly safe.
Every time I use the distiller, afterward I pour out a disgusting, thick, chemical-smelling sludge from the bottom of the distiller- this is what is in our drinking water - I have new pipes so it is not from that.
I suggest everyone use one or some other kind of filter.

I understand your reservations, but they are a multinational corporation raking in gigantic profits. Bringing them down a peg (or two...or even three) isn’t gonna kill them.
“Wow. I just may begin to think about possibly buying less Tyson chicken when it isn’t on sale if this keeps up for another 10 years”— the average CONservative freeper.
We don’t buy it anyways, on sale or not.......................
We stopped buying the Tyson brand after their management got caught trafficking illegals, large numbers of illegals.
Force feed the Tyson Executives with the water.
Tyson Foods has been doing something naughty since the beginning of recorded history.
I especially like they way their fish farms use toxic feed and pollute the entire surrounding areas. Then they fund the likes of the Pacific Coast Federation of Fishermans Associations to go to NMFS and halt or constrain competing commercial fisheries in the open ocean by which to raise prices and provide minimal alternative to their tainted products.
Lovely bunch the Tysons.
