A very important part of this history is relevant today. The wonderful UN, who is currently demanding a cease-fire from Israel, didn’t lift a finger to stop the very real genocide in Cambodia. But it gets worse. Pol Pot and his regime was never pursued and prosecuted for obvious crimes against humanity. And, he was allowed to die peacefully, of old age, a free man.
This albatross should be around the UN’s neck until the UN is on the ash heap of history, where it belongs.
I definitely agree about the UN, however, in Cambodia, rumors persist that Pol Pot was actually poisoned.
Enemies he had made more than enough...
