GWINN: NFL Says They Do Not Agree with Harrison Butker After He Voices Christian Values
Breitbart ^

Posted on 05/16/2024 7:38:54 AM PDT by Eleutheria5

Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker delivered a powerful address espousing Christian values to a group of graduates at Benedictine College on Saturday.

Now, the NFL is saying they disagree with Butker.

In his commencement speech, the Butker blasted President Joe Biden for his pro-abortion stances, urged male grads to embrace masculinity, and championed the virtues of motherhood by telling female graduates there is no higher calling than being a homemaker.

On Wednesday, in a statement to People, NFL Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Jonathan Beane clarified that Butker’s values are not the NFL’s.

“Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity,” Beane wrote. “His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

In addition to speaking to graduates about the anti-Christian values the current administration holds regarding abortion and motherhood, as well as the “cultural emasculation of men,” Butker also said that Pride Month represented “deadly sins.”

What this thread needs is a link to the speech.

Thank you.

Let’s pray they don’t. There’s a lot of us KC folks who are rooting for him.

“The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Oh? Will you then agree to making the various races of the players on the roster equal to the race’s percentage of the U.S. citizenry?

Until you do so, your statement is a bald-faced lie.

Exactly...
Political...
Regarding a speech that has nothing to do with them since they weren’t even mentioned...

My first thought on hearing the NFL mention “Inclusiveness” was, where are the All Pro female defensive tackles?
What? Only... Men?
So tradition and common sense ARE based in reality?
Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Just watch. The Chiefs will "cut" Butker in the training camp.

NO WAY!

If it weren't for Butker the Chief's would NOT have made it to the Super Bowel much less won it!

The media twisted his words to make it sound like he said that women should stay in the kitchen, when really he was glorifying his wife and giving her credit for helping him be successful.

Since most low information masses don't read past the headlines, other celebrities/athletes feel they're at risk if they say they support his words.

“His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger.”

Translation: "The NFL is committed to post-Christian American. Any expression of the values of Christian America are not acceptable to us."

The message to Christian America should be clear -- stop spending your money on NFL products.

“Football remains an amazing game...”

It’s been a bore for over 10 years. Hours of commercials and referee explanations with a few minutes of football for every afternoon spent. I stopped watching before all the political stuff go out of hand.

Can’t sit through an entire game anymore. I’ll just wait and watch the highlights.

The NFL is all about a game where grown men make lots of $$ continuing to play a game most of us outgrew after high school.

They ARE NOT my moral compass so they need to STFU about anything other than football.

I stopped watching the NFL when they allowed their employees:

- while on company time
- while in company uniform
- while at a company location
- while performing at a company event

to disrespect the flag, and by inference, my service to that flag.

Butker also said that Pride Month represented “deadly sins.”

Pride Shame Month celebrates one of four Sins Which Cry Out to Heaven for Vengeance.

I’m glad the NFL confirmed it is an organization firmly standing against Christianity and in favor of perversion and the slaughter of the unborn. It makes it easy to ignore NFL games and their sick organization on moral and religious grounds. They are millionaires without conscience or moral rules. They confirm they are godless trash.
