The beloved British series "Doctor Who" did not live up to ratings expectations after its star told viewers not to watch if they had a problem with the progressive messaging of the show. Its cast, former lead, and director have been promoting progressive ideologies recently, while the show's viewership has been cut nearly in half.
Lead actor and Doctor Who character Ncuti Gatwa already had the second-worst premiere for a season of "Doctor Who" in December 2023's Christmas special titled, "The Church on Ruby Road." According to the BBC, the episode had 4.7 million viewers.
As That Park Place noted, however, this only beat out the original "Doctor Who" premiere, "An Unearthly Child," that aired all the way back in 1963 to the tune of 4.4 million viewers. That same season saw a significant increase in viewership as it progressed, peaking at over 10 million viewers by episode 10.
The same upward trajectory cannot be said for Gatwa's iteration, who famously told critics not to watch if they didn't like the woke direction the series was taking.
"Don't watch. Turn off the TV. Go and touch grass, please, for God's sake," he told Variety. "As the world darkens — and I do think the world is darkening around queer rights — there is a joy and a celebration, and there’s a community," he continued.

#RIPDoctorWho now trends regularly on X/Twitter. All the original fans have packed up and left. They don't want to see hard left wokery not only kill the show but rape its corpse.
There might not be so vicious an example of liberalism destroying everything it touches at this moment in time than what "progressives" are doing to Doctor Who.
And the viewership of the two new Doctor Who episodes on Disney+ is said to be abysmal. Maybe only around 30,000 who tuned in.
I think the show should have ended after Tom Baker left.
Happy to abide. Though I haven’t watched Dr. Who since it was on PBS decades ago with Tom Baker as the Dr. Use to watch it with my parents.
It’s a show made by and for pederasts. One would assume that’s a narrow audience.
I heard it that it should be called “Nurse What” now.
Been done with it for a while. Too bad, I used to love that show.
After David Tennent and Matt Smith the show turned to crud.
I don’t think there is enough room in a phone booth for “queer rights” to physically happen. Even though they do seem to be able pull it off in bathroom stalls?

Perhaps they should resurrect the next Doctor as a talking turd. And it can identify as a socialist.
But that was almost 20 years ago. Davies left and the amazing Steven Moffat became showrunner, and with him came Matt Smith and then Peter Capaldi as the Doctor.
Then came the Chris Chibnall era which only lasted for the female Doctor (that wasn't even half of what went wrong on Chibnall's watch).
Now it's Davies again, and the man has changed. Has become a raging progressive waging war against the true Doctor Who fans who have watched the show since its original run 1963-1989. Ncuti Gatwa ticks off all the right D.E.I. boxes: homosexual, liberal, minority (I have no problem with a black man playing the Doctor so long as he properly respects the character and the show's history). It's also been strongly hinted that he was on Davies' casting couch if you know what I mean.

I gave up on Dr Who after Matt Smith left. I did watch a few episodes with the female Dr.
Then he regenerated.
A lot of fans have said that the blinding white flash was the Doctor's real final moment and that the Jodie Whittacker/Ncuti Gatwa era is just a dream like Bobby Ewing in the shower.

The character is NOT gay. I like the show so far. It is fun again. On the watch for wokness, none yet. The Specials were VERY woke, not a fan of Tennant anyway, overated emo Doctor.

You have to love the hypocrisy of Leftists - why can't they let people be and stop forcing upon them things they don't want?
