Coming home from school to watch SpongeBob was a major part of my childhood. Over the past 25 years, we've seen some truly hilarious and heartwarming episodes, complete with iconic quotes and memes that have traversed generations.
So, in honor of the show's 25th anniversary, I decided to rank the top 25 episodes of all time.
Let's start with some honorable mentions. Honestly, the first few seasons of SpongeBob were so strong it would be easy to argue for any episode to make the top. "Texas" (Season 1, Episode 18) Sandy Cheeks in a cowboy hat plays guitar with a jellyfish floating nearby United Plankton Pictures, Nickelodeon Animation Studios / Via static.wikia.nocookie.net Best Quote: "I wanna go hoooommme..." A homesick Sandy wants to return to Texas, and SpongeBob attempts to throw her a surprise party to convince her to stay. To get her off the bus, SpongeBob and Patrick throw a series of jabs at her home state, leading to a chase scene that gives us one of the greatest memes the show has to offer.
The ending at the Krusty Krab, when Sandy realizes home is where people care about you, really warms the heart. The chase scene is an iconic meme moment:

Same thing happened with The Simpsons, after The Simpsons Movie. The movie was great, but I really haven’t bothered with the TV show since.
There are tons of internet threads speculating about what’s on that picture.
There was a major project at work, and management distributed bound copies of key documents for all of us.

William Fagerbakke did the voice of Patrick. When my kids were all into spongebob, I heard the voice and I recognized it from the old sitcom, “Coach”. He was Dauber in that show.
Yep, Dexter’s Lab was great. I also loved Jimmy Neutron with Carl and Sheen.

“Coach” is also where I first heard the voice of Patrick. Fagerbakke played football in college and turned to theater after a career-ending knee injury.
A few NFL games have been broadcast on Nick over the past few seasons. There was one game where Fagerbakke was broadcasting as Patrick and he made a great comment (after Russel Wilson threw an interception) that got rave reviews.
Recognizing a good thing - and with the NFL realizing they cheesed off their fans and threw away money with the kneeling nonsense - this past Super Bowl was broadcast on Nick with Fagerbakke providing color commentary. It was great, and Fagerbakke/“Parruck” was a zillion times better than the awful and utterly-detestable Joe Buck.

I’ve never seen a single episode. I’m from the Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Wyle E Coyote era.
Which genre?
Another great cartoon.
Genuinely funny and easy to watch with the kids.
The Spongebob genre. The kids needed that message from the very tool that
has been used to try to ruin their lives. A tool that is a significant contributor
to our Systemic Child Sex Grooming problem.
I watched it a lot with my son when he was young. The episode where Pantera did the soundtrack is awesome!!
