ESPN broadcast the PGA Championship on Thursday and Friday, plus early play on Saturday and Sunday...CBS Sports has prime time rights on weekend play...ESPN has a really interesting new feature (new to me anyway)...If you subscribe to ESPN+ you can choose full time coverage of individual player groups that include Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Bryson DeChambeau (the longest hitter in the PGA)...Since many viewers just follow three or four golfers, that seems like a brilliant business idea to me.

It’s your perspective, very few personalities have existed in golf, it’s a game that doesn’t lend itself to huge personalities, the rules and the galleries not cheering during shots, etc., Nicklaus was stoic for the most part.
Watching Greg Norman melt down multiple times at the Masters was fun to watch over the years, Tiger Woods was a personality, what separates golfers today from yesterday is how few can stand up under pressure, Nicklaus was the best, today there is so much money involved you don’t have to win to make millions, so players are content with finishing in the top 10 versus winning.

Scottie Scheffler is a devout Christian who literally hired a new caddie because he wanted to work with another devout Christian.
He married his high school sweet heart, and they had their first child less than two weeks ago.
The cop who was injured was a detective in street clothes who did not identify himself and grabbed Scheffler's door handle and would not let go.
No professional golfer has even one bad thing to say about the guy.
He was arrested because of absurdly bad timing and the pointlessly aggressive behavior of the detective.
Shane Lowry is on the verge of making history, -8 for the day thru 16 and just hit one withing 6 feet on 17 for birdie, if he makes birdie a par on 18 gives him 62 which ties a record I think, 61 is not out of the question.
I’ve been around a long time been pulled over more times than you would believe because of my cars and bikes. I’ve dealt with a lot of different types of cops. Scottie decided he would just do whatever he felt like and then once he got busted it was a misunderstanding. I’ve notice no one else besides Scottie the magnificent seemed to have any problem that morning.

I have never understood why people who hate something feel so compelled to tell others why they hate something and call everyone who likes the subject is an idiot.
A lot of states that don’t cater to crime might handle things more severely if you take off like that especially if they have your door open and hands on your car. Pretty simple to dial up a lot of people being shot dead as doornails doing just that all on bodycam

Do they launch golfers in foursomes, and is it generally the same foursome from one tournament to the next?
So would Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Bryson DeChambeau, and say Tiger Woods be in the same foursome in tournament after tournament (before the cut)?
They usually have about 150 participants on round 1. They might put them foursomes if they all start on the first tee. Most of the time they split the tees to keep the groupings to two or three: half the people start on the first tee and the other half start on the 10th tee (they put an asterisk or arrow to indicate this on the scoreboard). They flip the starts on round 2.
They will also do morning starts and afternoon starts, and then flip that on round 2. Sometimes they even have multiple courses and start one set on one course and the other set on the other, and then flip that on round 2.
Then they do the cut. They try to put the cut line so that about 75 players advance to round 3, plus or minus based on ties. At that point, they group people based on cumulative strokes, with the leaders going last. They group the players separately for rounds 3 and 4 based on cumulative strokes each day.
If there are weather delays they may change this. If play is called on round 3 so that they have to complete it on the morning of day 4 and then start round 4 later in the morning, they might keep the groupings as is for round 4 to minimize downtime and confusion depending on the length of the make-up time.
