Duesseldorf (rpo). Which influence do geomagnetic fields on earthquakes have? On this question researchers in all world already operate for years. Russian researchers set up the thesis now that violent magnet towers can release earthquakes directly.
After past knowledge status one assumes the fact that magnetic fields, whether from violent sunning towers or smallest variations in the rotational speed of the earth produces, " pump " additional energy to the crust of the earth and with it very probably can influence their status. Frequently several days find earthquakes somewhere after occurance of such an code event on earth.
Scientists of the Shmidt of institute for geophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences postulated now that magnetic storms are strong enough, in order to bring the earth's crust directly to the quake. In order to test this hypothesis, the researchers compared more than 14,000 seismologische recordings of vibrations of the earth's crust, since 1975 in Kirgisien and Kasachsthan had occurred with the data of 350 violent magnet towers in the same time.
Output of enormous plasma currents Geomagnetic storms result from the outputs of enormous and high-energy plasma currents from the sun in connection with solar Flares. There the printing and particle wave released by these plasma eruptions meet also on earth and bring the terrestrial magnetosphaere to swinging. The beginning of such a magnet tower, which can stop several hours until several days, is to be felt everywhere on earth almost at the same time. Only after fading away the acute Teilchenbombardements the magnetic field of the earth begins itself to recover slowly again. In this period the magnetic field characteristics differ clearly in the different geographical latitudes. The researchers found out in their calculations that the largest earthquake density in Kasachsthan and Kirgisien always occurred within fewer days after arrival of a magnet tower. Normally their number increased clearly, after the terrestrial magnetic field was met by such an event. But also the opposite was to be observed in some test regions: a reduction of the erdbebenhaeufigkeit to a magnet tower. In order to test also the influence of other factors, the researchers did not try additionally to determine connections between the observed earthquakes and tides found however - in the opposite to the data of the magnet towers - any statistical significance.
Unverstanden still to a large extent But the energy, which a magnet tower sets free, became at all the clearing of an earthquake is enough? After the results of the researchers corresponds the energy in approximately the energy quantity, set free with seismic activity, which a geomagnetic storm transports. However an earth impact only about a Hunderstel of the energy stored in the rock uses. Also the process of transformation of the electromagnetic energy of the storm into the mechanical energy of an earthquake is still to a large extent unverstanden.
The transfer is done via several relatively complex processes, which have altogether only one efficiency of a dog first part of a per cent. Even if the researchers consider a trip function of the geomagnetic storms very probable, in further field tests and laboratory experiments the connection must be clarified only still unique.
How can anyone take this seriously when the Space Shuttle is nowhere to be found in the text.
