Not only was this fully articulated dinosaur found lying in a bed of leaves and plant debris, but there is wood from trees mixed in among the bones, some of which contains petrified and unpetrified elements in the same piece of wood. If this creature were millions of years old, the evidence would look quite different." Anybody care to expand on what they might mean with "quite different."

"The evidence strongly points to a relatively recent and catastrophic event similar to that described in the Bible as the flood of Noah's day," he said. Nobody but Young Earth Creationists find evidence for The Flood. YECs tend to think most or all of the geologic column is The Flood, which would easily explain the above statement. But that's really unworkable, geologically.

Show me the money applies here too. "Bones" can be misinterpreted by amateurs as well as experts. I am also wondering if any spark plugs have recently been found nearby.

So far, I can't seem to find this one on the wire services. Another WND scoop.

Well, if the bones were professionally excavated, as seems to be the case, that's the main thing. Personally, I think Darwin's general theory of evolution is unscientific bunk. But I don't think that dinosaurs were around to be drowned in Noahs flood circa 3,000 B.C., either. I don't imagine this find will "prove" anything of the kind.

Be a part of an historical paleontological dinosaur dig in Northwest Colorado. Experience working with a professional excavation team on one of the most productive dinosaur sites in the famous "Dinosaur Triangle" near Dinosaur National Monument. Discover what the Bible says about dinosaurs and the Great Flood as you engage the past in a real-life, hands-on adventure. Learn how to identify, collect, and interpret fossils from trained field experts (who serves as adjunct faculty for the Institute of Creation Research), his family, and an experienced team of excavators from the Creation Studies Institute on a once-in-a-lifetime fossil dig! This five day adventure dig includes touring the National Dinosaur Monument and excavation of both an Allosaurus and a Sauropod.
Objective: To teach what the Bible says about dinosaurs and Noah's Flood. Moreover, to experience it first hand with teachers who will present a young earth creation account. Also to learn how to identify, collect and interpret fossils from trained experts who use a creation model. In addition, be a part of an historical paleontological dig in Northwest Colorado. |

I think this must be the same creature that is shown in medved's pics. The only piece of the puzzle still missing is some carbon-14 dating, to show that this creature is less than 6,000 years old.

A dinosaur fossil expedition for home educators has excavated a large, rare, intact allosaurus, a discovery that organizers say helps debunk the theory of evolution. This claim depends upon the not-totally-fossilized wood pieces found among the bones. The wood is associated with the dinosaur, but the wood is unpetrified, therefore it appears the dinosaur is young.
Samples of the wood should be independently examined and radioisotope dated. And somebody outside of ICR should be allowed to examine the site.
For some reason, I'm not holding my breath.
To: PatrickHenry
You'd think someone else would have noticed if dinos had survived to 6K years ago. Of course, this is ICR after all. Nothing is older than 6-10K years, people just read the signs wrong.
To: VadeRetro
You'd think someone else would have noticed if dinos had survived to 6K years ago. How little you understand, evolution boy! They didn't survive to 6K years ago. The world began 6K years ago. The dinos would have to be much more recent than that. Idiot!
To: VadeRetro
Samples of the wood should be independently examined and radioisotope dated. And somebody outside of ICR should be allowed to examine the site. I hope they do exactly that. Something like this is just too important to have even a hint of "it should have been done by so-and-so."

I don't think it's going to wind up being that important. The age of the earth isn't on all that shaky a ground.
