America – The Right Way!!
The Daily Update – June 14, 2002

REMEMBER THE TRADE CENTER!!

AMERICA’S WAR ON TERROR – Day 277

The news as reported in The Washington Times:

[Note – All links go to The Washington Times’ website.]

1. American Catholic Bishops yesterday decided against a policy that would have allowed priests to stay in service had they committed only one instance of sexual abuse.

[I don’t know why this is so difficult for the Bishops. The Pope says it is a most egregious sin. If so, and a priest commits it – outta here! It’s that simple.]

Bishops tighten abuse policy

2. Teamsters leader Jimmy Hoffa, Jr., said his union will give more money to Republicans in this election cycle.

[Daschle, call your office. The party, your Party, is over!]

3. The Washington Times has been bringing us news and views for 20 years.

4. Retail sales dropped sharply last month; analysts had expected them to increase with the recovery.

[Interesting.]

Slipping economy not following script

5. The House voted to end the so-called marriage penalty in income taxation.

[And the Senate IML will not consider it, of course.]

6. The DC Department of Mental Health has failed to return $1 million to the relatives of deceased patients, and has mismanaged the accounts of hundreds of living patients.

[Another shining example of the benefits of liberal city management.]

D.C. agency keeps cash of deceased

7. The ACLU and NAA(L)CP have joined in criticism of the Washington, DC, police department’s plan to use video cameras to watch over public spaces.

[First of all, the US Supreme Court has said there is no expectation of privacy in a public space. Second, as long as the cameras are not attached to a computer (so far they are not), what is the difference between a police officer watching in the public space, or a police officer watching a public space on a TV camera. It’s not exactly a novel concept; many modern office buildings have surveillance cameras for their private security operations.]

ACLU, NAACP warn of police camera abuse

8. S. Vance Wilkins Jr. resigned his position as Speaker of the Virginia Assembly amid a sexual harassment allegation.

[Good. Far more honorable than a recent President. Thus the difference between the GOP and demonflops continues.]

Virginia House speaker resigns

We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.
