They should look to Denmark for sea gates to push back the seas.

So which is it?
Seas rising or island sinking?

So mass settling is outpacing the rising seas from climate change? Maybe NYC should relocate to Boise, Idaho. Take Washington DC with them. Let the FBI sink out in the swamps around Quantico, in their new Stasi-quarters.

I saw this clown interviewed by Lee Goldberg who is a meteorologist here in NY. The engineer completely made a WAG on this. He basically claims he figured out the weight of over 1M buildings, came up with a load and weight number and determined it’s sinking 1mm a year. Total and absolutely useless exercise. But I’m sure he got a government grant to do this.

Hundreds of thousands of tons of buildings on a small island and anyone is surprised it would start sinking? Wow - I’m speechless.

Now imagine how far down glaciers and ice sheets would push down on the ground. I don’t know the exact amounts.
But my guess id that “sea level” today is many feet higher than it was in prior periods.
An interesting topic to explore IMO.
To: algore
So really the sea levels haven’t really been rising, moreso massively developed costal cities are sinking under their own weight.

The descent makes the metropolis more vulnerable to rising sea levels and coastal flooding caused by climate change Sure - if climate change was real.
