What are they using this information for in states that have decided not to enforce their own laws? Like in some Florida counties?

Police on patrol are continuously scanning and running license plates (tags) to figure out who best to pull over for some Barbara Streisand “infraction”.

You have no privacy on the road. Can be pulled over for anything .

Not really.

The problem is rarely locating the criminals. The problem is getting the police to go after them.

And of course the question of "who is a criminal they want to track" must be asked.

It certainly does not seem to be tracking actual stolen cars, those are rarely recovered. But it does seem to work as they track people who had the audacity to think that maybe books about how great it is to be buggered by you family members should not be in a elementary school library.
