Early this morning, it has been reported, first by the “Day of New London” and “WTIC AM 1080″ sports news reported that Robert G. Burton, of Greenwich, CT, USA, and a printing company magnate, sent a six-page letter to the University of Connecticut Athletic Director Jeff Hathaway, reasons being that there was a number of major disagreements by Mr. Burton of the managing style of Mr. Hathaway.

In other words, a major donor family calls it QUITS.

As MIT said, the only "universities" to fall for the cold fusion scam were those "with good football teams".

Too bad it is an American addiction...

"then there is issues in the front office that MUST BE addressed."

I guess their educational abilities should also "be addressed".

That should read "then there are issues in the front office that MUST BE addressed." LOL

More likely an attention to detail problem. Probably a change in the
train of thought without proofing the entire piece.

I missed that one, but did pick up on the misspelling of "SUCESSFUL".

Oh, and it's not about getting the donor getting his money back, as his
requested the remainder of his football scholarships donation to
go to the b-school.

Universities in the US are about to crash hard. For decades their overheated growth has been far beyond sustainability, with the institution split in two: money making athletics on one side, and money making academics on the other side.

On one hand, it is like a State subsidized minor league for the NFL, and on the other a paper mill for worthless degrees, subsidized with bloated student loans.

Public universities have become both a big obstacle to higher education and a way of depriving business of four of their employees most productive years. This has to end.

Mr. Hathaway simply has NOT BEEN GETTING IT by how he has not show a “positive managing style” and creating a stumbling block for coaches such a former UConn head football coach Randy Edsall in being able to stay. Plus when this also means not only the lost of a big sum of money, name honor placement, empty luxury boxes, etc., then there is issues in the front office that MUST BE addressed.
