Herman Cain At The Center Of Tonight's Debate: Who Won?
Elephant Watcher ^ | October 11, 2011

"Who won the latest Republican debate? Going into the debate, Mitt Romney was the frontrunner. After the debate, he remains the frontrunner. Of all the candidates, Romney appeared the most presidential. He is becoming increasingly skilled in debates. Other candidates attempted to challenge Romney on a number of occasions, but he used them as opportunities to promote his candidacy. In some ways, Herman Cain was in the center of the debate. The crowd enjoyed Cain, but he runs the risk of becoming a one-note candidate, known only for his "9-9-9" plan. As for Rick Perry, he was not harmed as he was in previous debates, but he was flat. He seemed afraid of hurting himself. Romney and Cain were comfortable.

The Republican debate this evening had an unusual format. Rather than having each candidate at his own podium, as in all the previous debates, the candidates were seated at one big table. In the past, this format has been known to encourage the candidates to be a bit more civil. For some reason, candidates are less comfortable attacking each other when seated together...."

Seriously, if Romney gets the nomination then I will either just vote 3rd party or just stay home.

Cain is my man, but I saw a tie between Mitt, Newt, and Santorum.

Cain did as good as Bachman for # 2.

Perry, Huntsman, and Paul are done.

Romney is a bright guy, and he performs well in debates. But I don't trust him, I don't agree with many of his positions, and I will not be voting for him.

Perry is not done. He was not hurt tonight. It is too early to call anyone done yet. Perry just started his campaign about two months ago. I prefer to see what shakes out.

The Speaker and Mr. Cain won this debate.

Soros-Romney avoided questions but will be “crowned” by
his DNC MSM.

Perry does not seem to have a grasp of the English language.

Cain, Newt and then Mittens. Newt is by far the brightest person in the room, no question. Bachman was good, Perry, Paul and Huntsman ane done and Santorum may have just killed him self off!

"Seriously, if Romney gets the nomination then I will either just vote 3rd party or just stay home."

LOTS of Conservatives here feel that way; but the Fix is in for Romney the RINO. He's the Chosen One, and Cain is the only real Conservative left. He will not outrun the money of Romney, nor the State-Run-Media 24/7 push for Romney the RINO.

Sad.

The format was good at showing more of the personality. I know it’s not popular to say here, but Romney does come across well, and while he is weak on many issues (flat-out wrong on some), his fiscal conservatism is good enough that I will support him if it comes to that, much like I did when Mark Kirk was the choice to replace Obama in the Senate.

As the great philosophers Jagger and Richards wrote, “you can’t always get what you want, but you get what you need”....and what we need first and foremost is to make sure the horrible reign of Barack the First comes to an end next November.

Please tell me Bachmann didn’t actually say something about turning 9-9-9 upside down and getting 6-6-6.

If so, she should not only quit the race, she should quit the House.

The Highlight of this debate came in the Beginning when Tumulty asked if people on Wall st. should be in Jail for the Housing Crisis and Michelle Bachman gave the Best explanation I have Heard in YEARS as to what REALLY happened with the Community Investment act and the Government forcing banks to LOWER lending Standards ,so if anyone should Go to Jail it should have Been Chris Dodd and Barney Frank,Newt followed up and was Fantastic,THIS SHOULD BE THE HEADLINE FROM THIS DEBATE FOLKS,THE FIRST TIME THE REPUBLICANS HAD THE BALLS TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS ABOUT THE HOUSING CRISIS.I thought Tumulty looked like she wet her pants, she thought she was going to embarass the Candidates and they kicked her in the Ass

When I see an image of Romney, it turns my stomach. I feel sick. If I hear his voice with it, I draw back. I can't stand it.

I can't see myself voting for him. I really do think I'd get sick. It's like a bad omen. I just couldn't do it. I'm sorry. I've never felt this bad about a candidate. Even Oboma didn't make me physically ill like Romney does.

If you close your eyes and listen to Perry talking, it sounds like GWB talking.

The populace would never vote for another GWB, even if it’s really not him (and Perry really is similar to GWB, especially on immigration).
