Israel In Twilight

Israel’s predicament today is the work of Rabin and Sharon; two generals turned prime ministers who launched ambitious ventures and died leaving them unfinished and their nation in twilight.

Rabin’s peace process destroyed Israeli national security and revitalized terrorism as a force in political affairs. Had he lived, he might have turned away from it. The idea had been thrust on him by the fringe left and he had grasped it as a hedge against the political oblivion of a leftist party that had lost credibility in a new Israel no longer dominated by the Socialist vision of cooperatives and bureaucracies.

My opinion was that Sharon’s strategy was to show the world that the Gaza Arabs (I refuse to call them Palestinians)cannot rule themselves and would devolve into chaos and terrorism, and that the peace process would never work for that reason. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to point that out, and he must not have communicated this to anyone else who would point it out to the world.

He was right, if that was his prediction, but it doesn’t really matter. It wouldn’t have worked. The world is always ready to believe the worst about Israel and Jews.

Rabin was not so much a general as a mass-murderer (Google “Rabin and Altalena”) and chief of staff who had a nervous breakdown during the Six Day War. He was a psychopath who should have been imprisoned in 1948 and never released. Thousands of dead Jews are his legacy.

"It will be up to Generation X to solve Israel’s strategic problem. That is assuming that they ever get the chance. Israel cannot afford to exist in twilight. If it were in a peaceful part of the world, if its people were not murderously hated by billions, if it were not constantly at war, it might be able to move through an undistinguished prosperity without worry or doubt; but that is not its fate."

Obama and Kerry are moving heaven and earth to end Israel and not allow another generation of Israelis to secure Israel's future.

Obama’s and Kerry’s actions intend to weaken a nation just before it gets much stronger. The gas and oil production from the Mediterranean sea floor will not only aid domestic manufacturing and finance but will also provide an export bonanza and closer ties from neighbors such as Greece.

Twilight?? The Jews were scattered to the ends of the earth for close to two thousand years, only to reappear once again on the same plot of land.

The Jews have gone up against the Egyptians, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Romans, the Muslims, and the Nazis and they are still flourishing.

Israel will never be in twilight.

Israel’s not in twilight. Israel is in the dawn of a wonderful future.
(Obama’s in twilight, as the plain light of day has finally revealed his true nature to the world...)
