Some St. Paul public schools are unsafe for students and teachers, writes Katherine Kersten, a senior policy fellow at the Center for the American Experiment, in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
A Central High teacher was choked and body-slammed by a student and hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury, while another teacher was knocked down and suffered a concussion while trying to stop a fight between fifth-grade girls. There have been six high school riots or brawls this school year.
Hoping to close the racial suspension gap, the district has spent millions of dollars on white privilege and cultural competency training for teachers and positive behavior training, an anti-suspension behavior modification program, writes Kersten.
When that didnt work, they lowered behavior standards and, in many cases, essentially abandoned meaningful penalties, she writes. Students cant be suspended for continual willful disobedience any more. Often, students chat briefly with a behavior specialist or are simply moved to another classroom or school where they are likely to misbehave again.
Behavior has gotten worse, wrote Aaron Benner, a veteran elementary teacher, in the Pioneer Press. On a daily basis, I saw students cussing at their teachers, running out of class, yelling and screaming in the halls, and fighting.

Socialists imposed the un-American idea of socialist schools, during a campaign that lasted from the 1830’s to 1918, when the last county in America succumbed.
When seeking to account for the fact that Americans are increasingly socialist, you are forbidden to notice that 90% of Americans spend 12 years of their youth locked in socialist buildings, being indoctrinated by socialist “teachers.”
Maybe their money would be better spent at the elementary level teaching manners, and what it means to be civilized, so that as they grow up they won't think this behavior is appropriate. I suspect everything they are spending on is just making it worse...
Time to open the adult prisons and let those men and women teach these youngins that go awry.
Homeschooling impossible without two parents in the family. Marriage is the devotion of two to help one another get to heaven, creating the domestic church....for this very reason.
Why don’t they try something new and innovative, like busing in white students to “whiten” the schools? /s
This, and general chaos and crime, was very reason for segregation in the first place.
I’ve asked this question several times before, and have never gotten an answer:
What tangible benefit has come from desegregation? This has to be a real benefit that benefits the majority of people. It can’t be philosophical, spiritual or anything like that.
Racial gap: whites don’t attack their teachers.
White Privilege: get your head bashed in by a non-white.
I’m pretty sure it was unanimous here at the FreeRepublic that this technique would turn out badly. Conservatives vindicated yet again.
I think most black students are from single parent (mother) homes. I doubt their mothers know much more than they do about anything scholastic. In short, it would be futile to expect single mothers to be competent teachers. And marriage is not a probability with most of those single parents.
“What tangible benefit has come from desegregation?”
Separate but equal is not equal, they said. The downtrodden were supposed to have been lifted up.
Instead, we got animals dragging everybody down and SJWs declaring that civilization itself is evil white privilege and must be renounced and systematically destroyed.
When we have no functioning educational system whatsoever and we have all reverted to savagery, then we will have achieved equality.
They get to average the grades and look better.
Other than that, nothing.
