“On April 28, 2003, Sequoia Pharmaceuticals in Maryland filed for US patent 7151163 on antiviral agents of treatment and control of infections by coronavirus”

I don’t understand what is odd about this timing. SARS-1 was first seen in December 2002 and became a world wide thing by Feb 2002.

Ralph Baric (Mr. Gain-of-Function, before that work was sent to Wuhan) was investigating cardiomyopathy from coronavirus (sound familiar?) in rabbits and published on it, back in the 1990s.
The first vaccine for a coronavirus was by Pfizer in 1999, for a strain infecting dogs.
