Hypersonic and nuclear don’t belong in the same sentence. Current hypersonic warheads are the size of a small fire extinguisher.
Moreover, we can track so called “Fast Walkers” via infrared in real time. Anything low and fast crossing into our actual air space will be sortied for and shot down.
It would be the same if we Russia tried to fly a Mig-29 at supersonic speeds from San Fran to Washington DC.

Pentagon says hypersonic weapons are too expensive
The Pentagon wants defense contractors to cut the ultimate cost of hypersonic weapons, the head of research and development said on Tuesday, as the next generation of super-fast missiles being...
Hypersonic glide vehicles, like Russia's Avangard, are specifically designed to carry nuclear warheads.
Depends on who you read I guess.
To deliver a nuclear warhead, a vehicle need only be large enough to hold the explosive device and powerful enough to carry its mass to a distant target. Both are achievable with many current hypersonic weapon designs. Modern warheads can be quite small, weighing on the order of 100 kilograms. This is a fraction of the mass of a typical hypersonic glider, which might weigh around 1000 kilograms.
Not only are hypersonic weapons capable of carrying nuclear warheads, they are currently deployed for precisely this purpose Russia’s Avangard, an intercontinental-range hypersonic boost-glide missile, is deployed as a nuclear-armed system. According to US defense officials, China’s DF-17 missile, which carries the DF-ZF hypersonic glider, is designed to carry either conventional or nuclear explosives. - https://allthingsnuclear.org/ctracy/how-do-hypersonic-weapons-work/
Nuclear warheads can be the size of a fire extinguisher.
WE could always bring back the Navaho and Hound Dog missiles from the 1950’s. It’s kind of interesting where in the 1950’s with the advent of ICBM’s, SLBM’s and IRBM’s, they said that hypersonic cruise missiles were obsolete.
