Given the quality of the military I am seeing; and the capabilities I have witnessed on our retreat from a disorganized bunch of Shepards in Afghanistan; I debate of our military is even COMPETENT enough to use this kind of weapon

I’ll second that. We’ve been fighting people in caves for a couple decades. And we lost. Fighting a real first world power? I don’t think we would do well. At all.
