Six out of my eight kids were born with bright blue eyes but they didn’t stay that way. Most of them ended up with green/hazel. My husband has blue eyes and my father’s side of the family has green and blue eyes.

I and all of my children were born with blue eyes. Mine stayed for about a year according to my mother and turned to what they are now - light brown.

My daughter kept her blue eyes for nearly two years but hers are now olive green.

What is the trigger that causes this change?

I started out with brown eyes. They went hazel in my mid 20’s. As time went by, they started turning green. I am in my mid-60’s and I now have a green colored eye. My father’s eyes were a beautiful shade of lighter green. My eldest daughter has those exact eyes. My mother’s eye color was a solid brown, which is the eye color of my youngest daughter.

That's interesting. My father had blue eyes. According to my parents, I had them too--or seemed to have them--until they turned green.
