A serial rapist recently released from prison sexually assaulted an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor after evading Israel Prison Service supervision, according to charges filed against him. Police said the suspect is 42-year-old Adel Hayeb, who lives in the same city as the Holocaust survivor.
According to the Israel Police investigation, a week ago, Hayeb met the Holocaust survivor on the street and complimented her looks. He then introduced himself as a handyman. As a result, the woman invited him to her house to ask his opinion about a renovation she was planning.

Adel Hayeb (42), a resident of northern Israel, is a violent and dangerous serial sex offender who was released six months ago from prison after serving eight and a half years in prison for raping a 70-year-old woman. Last week, Hayeb met an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor on the street and brutally raped her in her home.
"He turned to me and told me how beautiful I was. He really flattered me. He spoke nice words. We talked for a few minutes. He said he was a repairman. I didn't know he was a dangerous person, otherwise I wouldn't have let him into my house," the woman repeated to the police station investigators , "I told him that I have something to renovate inside the house, that I can show him if he does such work."
The elderly woman let Hayeb into her house, not knowing that it was a ticking time bomb. "Shortly after I brought him into the house, he forced me into the bedroom, brutally attacked me," the elderly woman stated. She said that Hayeb raped her and that there were moments when she really feared for her life.
The affair was revealed when the elderly woman was taken to the 'Ziv' hospital in Safed suffering from bleeding, lost blood and was operated on by the medical staff. A social worker who was called to the scene spoke with the elderly woman to understand what she had gone through since she was afraid to tell the doctors about it. The elderly woman revealed to her that she had been raped.
Investigators were called to the scene and collected an orderly testimony from the elderly woman. She told how Hav attacked and raped her very brutally. "He attacked me like an animal of prey. Just like that," said the elderly woman, "I was not spared." Hayeb, who previously served 14 prison sentences, denied that he raped the Holocaust survivor. He claimed, among other things, that the elderly woman "invited him to her house so that he would give her sexual services"[sic]. The North District Attorney's Office is supposed to submit an indictment against him to the Nazareth District Court.

I think her state of loneliness clouded her better judgement and sense of survival. It’s a very high price to pay for getting human contact, something we all require, and not feeling “invisible”. Prayers for her healing.
