I’ve seen civilian co-op engineering\science students with TSC\SCI clearances at national labs, defense labs & appropriate government agencies. I had a TSC\SCI at a national lab when I was a student. Age has nothing to do with it!
There are other reasons to question the reality of this, but age is not one of them.

And just because you had/have a TSSCI, it doesn’t mean you can look at any file you want.
There’s a reason for the SCI part. The Sensitive Compartmented Information part. Having one doesn’t mean someone can look at any TS file, from any agency, whenever they want. Have to have a reason for being granted access.
Yes maybe you did have those clearances at a young age, but every SCIF I ever worked in came down hard on that “need to know” thing. As far as the compartmented information so far listed, I seriously doubt that many people have access to all of them simultaneously, at least not an E3 or a graduate student.
