The Ukes have been telegraphing this attack for months, and Zelensky has claimed that Russia mined the roof of the reactors (coincidentally where a ballistic or cruise missile would strike) and is going to attack in the next day. Russia is claiming contra wise through official channels. It may be a “rumor”, but its a fairly substantive one, and buoyed by the clear failure of the USA/ Ukraine counter-offensive. The regime and its dependencies are fully committed to the Ukraine and no provocation is beyond their scheming.

I was more interested in the way the rumor is being propagated than the veracity of the story.
Obviously if this plant gets blown up things are going to get dicey.
there’s no element of surprise anymore, if someone was actually preparing an attack they are never gonna do it now
That would be news to the IAEA team at the plant, monitoring ops and doing inspections now for months
